Hey everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. Making a quick trip to the desert this week & since I get so much entertainment from the TRs everyone else posts, I figure I’ll throw my hat in the ring and do what I can to keep you updated.

Brief background on me – I graduated from college in 2013 and have made three Vegas trips since then. This year I had a great week of Vegas/NBA Summer League all mapped out for earlier this month, but had to scratch that trip due to my position at work being unexpectedly phased-out earlier this summer. Now that I have a new job locked down and a few free days before I start (first day is next Monday), I figured ‘hell with it’ and booked two nights at the Cosmo for a brief but much-needed getaway before getting back to work.

Flying out of Baltimore EARLY tomorrow morning. Once I land in Vegas I’ll grab my rental car and go off-the-grid for a bit to try & take care of a bucket list item in Utah. Should be back in Vegas around ‘normal’ check-in time to get settled into my digs at the Cosmo. My marketing offer is the generic 2 midweek nights in a City Room, but I’ve arranged to pay the upgrade fee ($60/night) to make it a Terrace Studio w/Fountain View.

No real concrete goals for this trip other than to just enjoy some time doing what I want, when I want to. On the gambling front, bankroll will be about $1k – games of choice will likely be roulette, VP, pai gow and maybe some blackjack and bubble craps thrown in there as well. The goal is to book a winning trip so I’m going in with the intention of doing small hit-and-runs and letting those add up, but that’s always easier said than done…

Less than 24 hours and I’ll be in the air!

A buddy of mine mentioned to me a while back how neat it would be able to say you did your hobby (play a round of golf, run a 5k, etc.) in each one of the 50 states - so I'm gonna go try to catch a fish in Utah then book it back to Vegas.

At my gate at BWI - boarding in under an hour. Glad I booked a flight out this early in the day but I also suspect I'll be feeling the lack of sleep later on today.

Plan for the flight is a bourbon & ginger ale or two then try to sleep for a few hours on the plane.
