    Bellagio - Luck Be Dublin - $500,000

Anyone ever done one of these? No way I'm paying $5k for the privilege of being in a tournament with only $500 FP guaranteed. :(

I get those invites all the time and I pass.

I have no interest in paying real money to hope to get lucky and win something.

I just wait for the free tournies.

Got this one also but worse case scenario it was a $4000 loss gurantee. Would be fun to give it whirl but. But pretty much have to get 7-10th place or better each day to break even.

Prefer the $500 ones for that reason.

Kim, I always pass on the 5k ones too. I prefer the free ones though those are getting rare at Bellagio and Aria. The highest buy in I have done so far was 1k at Aria however it was suppose to be limited to 150 players and even last place got 1k in free play. I say suppose to have a limit of 150 players but at the last minute Aria changed that and let additional players in which left a sour taste with some of us. In fact wasn't that the tournament that you were at also and you had a pretty good score so did the extra buy in?

I got an invite for one at the Monte Carlo during March Madness. It was free for me to enter and guaranteed $100 FP. I was already booked with PH so I decided to go ahead and take them up on the offer. I haven't ever done one through, this will be my first.

Outside of a huge buy in like $5K, do casinos have regular slot tourneys in the $100-500 range? How would I find out where/when these are?

I actually took part in Luck Be Dublin. The way I saw it, entering the slot tournament gave me 2 quantifiable chances to win $250k.

While those were always long odds, I'm pretty sure it gave me a higher chance of hitting the big one (and let's face it, playing slots is like swinging for the fences) then if I put $5k into the slots into the casino or sitting down at the blackjack table...
