well, we're under a week before lift off, so I guess I'll get this started.

I will start by saying that I have no doubt this will be the most uneventful TR on the board this weekend. my Vegas trips are pretty boring compared to the savages and degens that will be leading the show this weekend. I'm just along for the ride!

but if all goes according to plan, I will have some incredible shoe pictures and lots of pumpkin and gray chip porn. and of course there will be lots of great food and wine. and hopefully we'll see some good fights!

as far as the gambling, after last trip, I'm feeling a little gun shy. that last night gambling and then what happened the next day and the days following was really shitty and it's got me a little off my game. so my plan is to start slow, try to get some mojo flowing early with some hit and run sessions. if I can bank some small wins over a few sessions the first couple of days, they add up and that puts me in great position to take a swing the rest of the trip.

I've never been to Vegas for this long, so I really need to pace myself. earlier this year I was there for 9 nights and I didn't pace myself at all. I was up early in hit and run sessions as planned, but then degenned on the second night and blew my line and then had a miserable time the rest of the trip grinding back. I did get lucky the last day to catch 2 great shoes and make it out with actually a small winner, but I really don't want to repeat the early dump this trip.

so here's my strategy: over 12 days, there will be hundreds of shoes dealt. it only takes one good one to make my entire trip. so I just have to stay patient and wait for it to come to me. easier said than done for a degen, I know. :( I just love to jam them at 25k a hand every single time, but it's really not the smart move with such a long trip. if I can catch just a couple of shoes with a 12-15 run or chop or even a nice second line or 2, 2, 2 or 3, 3, 3 pattern, etc, I can make a mid 6 figure win and lock it up.

I was going to come home Sunday and go back on Thursday for the next weekend, but it worked out that work is getting under way on this new contract and so I have scheduled some meetings that week and will just stay. but being such a ridiculously long trip I've split up the trip in two in my mind. the first trip is Wed-Sun with my wife for UFC and the raffle winners. then my wife leaves on Sun and I'll be in meetings Monday-Thursday and then Tiger Jam is Fri/Sat.

    some plans the first weekend:
    - golf at Shadow in the Jeter celebrity tourney Thu/Fri
    - Le Cirque
    - VB Happy Hour meetup
    - Raffle winner dinner @ Mansion
    - Craps meetup
    - UFC
    - Craftsteak

    during the week:
    - Le Cirque again
    - try to mix it up with some different things for dinner each night
    - omakase at Shibuya
    - green chile nachos at Pub 1842
    - try to golf and get some massages depending on meeting schedule

    the second weekend:
    - golf at Shadow in the Tiger Jam tourney Fri/Say plus a one on one short game session with Tiger
    - another VB Happy Hour meetup
    - Tiger Jam poker tourney and concert

I'm in the same situation as you concerning the long trip. I'm a bit nervous about 9 nights. I'm thankful the gf is all about pacing in Vegas. It's a 24 hour town. If I need to pass out at 8pm and wake up at 4am to gamble. So be it!

I may even give love baccarat a try. Going to have to find a quarter table though.

Yep... good luck and see you there in two weeks!

I'm planning to hit up Le Cirque with the old lady, BIL, and a few friends two weeks from today. Really looking forward to it too.

    Crush 'em big!

I've maintained for a couple years that more than three nights would likely kill me in Vegas. I don't really believe that, but 9 or 12 days would be really tough for me! I'd have to pace myself -- and I think your plan sounds like the thing to do, shifter. Think of it as two trips. Break it up with some work. And don't let yourself go full degen at the beginning. Nothing worse than blowing the wad right away and having to bide your time itching to touch the wallet or CL. Unless you're PT ... because then you can just blow your wad time and again.

    I am a child. :wineglass:

Lock up a $100k win in the first hour and then just coast and have fun the rest of the way!

Almost two weeks in Vegas is a long time. Crush the MGM Shifter.

I know you will win some gray chips. Lets start with two and then four and then 8.
