All the stars aligned, and my wife and I are getting away for a 5 day/4 night trip to Secrets Maroma Beach. We were there for our honeymoon, and the beach and service at the resort were amazing.

It's difficult us for us to get there on our anniversary as my wife is a teacher, and we were married in November, so this will have to do. My parents and my in laws are watching the children which is fantastic. We also got a great deal due to zika, and since we have shut down the baby factory, we aren't as concerned about zika as others might be.

The only things planned are a ton of beach and pool time, gorging ourselves on food and alcohol and getting massages at some point. I'll try to post as many pictures as possible.

Leaving tomorrow morning on a direct flight on Jet Blue.

Absolutely gorgeous day today. 86 and sunny. Went with a few Modelos today instead of trying to break the world margarita record

We rented a beach bed for the day 50 bucks and came with your own waiter. Just a great day of relaxation.

We got back late Wednesday night.

What a blast. I'd recommend Secrets Maroma highly. The only two complaints I'd have were the beer selection which was generally Corona, Bud, Bud Light, Modelo and one other. However, their liquor selection was pretty good, and I think I drank more margaritas over the course of 5 days than I had in 5 years.

The food was good, but not great. They could upgrade a hair here, although my wife loved their sushi (no go for me due to a seafood allergy) and lived on fish tacos for lunch.

The resort is beautiful. While I enjoyed pool time and the swim up bar, the beach there is absolutely gorgeous.

We also used the spa and had 80 minutes massages, which were fantastic.

Bummed to be home, but then again I'll be in Vegas in 6 days...
