Notice how the RNG-random number generator is now a PRNG- pseudorandom number generator.
We can't duplicate nature, even in random sequencing.
    Really interesting Danny.
I will avoid any current events Russian references.

I've done some encryption work lately and it seems to be a lot like this rng in now it functions.

Being able to break encryption would cause one hell of a big mess.
    No doubt it will happen.

If the code within the slot machine isn't obfuscated then it's possible to decompile the code and figure out how the RNG is seeded. The files should be encrypted as well but who knows if it is. And if they have access to the machine maybe they can extract what the values have been salted with. If you've got that, you could over 500 million iterations per second. So it makes sense that they could get a response in just a few minutes from their buddies.

Given the ever expanding computing power of the fastest nation state computers, growing AI capabilities and old fashioned espionage, I would imagine that Russia, China, Israel and the US all have this on a high priority list.
Mankind went how long? staring up at night sky, finally got off the ground and 60 odd years later was on the moon.
I'm not easily surprised at the impossible? Improbable maybe?, anymore.
