I am not sure if there will any interest but thought I would share a few observations and PICs (mostly STP VP) from a quick drop in play at Harrahs AK-Chin outside of Phoenix. I also stopped into the Wild Horse Pass Casino for a hour so before my flight today.

I will update with the PIC as I can from my phone. Easier to attach thought Tapatalk.

So, I had some downtime after a couple work meetings and a lunch on Tuesday. I knew Harrahs has a property near by and thought I would stop in and check it out having never been there and I am trying to hit as many of the CET properties as I can.

Note: this report almost had a completely different direction when I found out that Vegas was only about 5 hours from Phoenix and my morning meetings the next day were pushed out. I figured I could be in Vegas by 8pm, play awhile get a couple hours sleep and still be back in Phoenix for a lunch meeting on the next day. I even got in the car and started heading that way but the little part of me that isn't a vegas degen spoke up and I decided against it.

.... I headed to AK-Chin from basically the airport area. Took about 45 minutes (much closer than the 5 hours to Vegas). The drive out was anything but scenic as I have heard AZ can be. Flat and nothing around. Driving through Maricopa was also uneventful even if I thought it would be a good place for a speed trap.

Arrived and found parking pretty quickly but the parking lot seemed packed.

Walked in and the place was completely packed. It was nuts. most people were walking around with some sort of give away they had ... showerheads, etc ....nothing special from what I could tell. I understand if you are going to go anyway, you might as well pick up the gift and spend the night and play. but it appeared that many were there just for that gift. Because of that, it was hard to find a good VP machine to play. The tables were fairly open. As for the casino itself. it had a weird layout like some of it was a poorly planned expansion. It was very dated and just had a odd feel. I stayed awhile so I guess it didn't bother me much. Because of all the people, getting a bartop was almost impossible for the first couple hours (4-6ish) They don't have a high limit room but what used to be the HL room is now the non-smoking room. They had a few SuperStar machines with STP on them but the best they had was .50 5 Play. So I started with that. Had a few small hits (pictures coming) but nothing exciting. As a Diamond member, you can get 4 free drink tickets (good to $7) for each day. I got the 4 tickets but while on the floor, I couldn't get a drink to save my life.

I also realized that I still had a $100 Diamond dinner that had to used by 3/31. I got that voucher and headed over to The Range. This is their steakhouse. I wasn't expecting much and that is just about what I got. Great service by the bartender as I sat at the bar but the food was fair. Ceasar salad was good as was the Filet but the tempura lobster was pretty bad and the mac and cheese was ... well, let's say I was missing Kraft. I don't think I was able to use more than about $60 on my own. Bought a couple deserts for others at the bar. BTW - the place was packed. Not sure if that is a lack of better options or that many others were using their dinner comps that expired on 3/31 (I know at least a couple were doing that also).

After that, I was able to get a bartop at The Lounge. They had STP 10 Play at Quarters. Made a pretty good run at it but was still down about 2K by about 10pm. Decided to through another grand at the case and see if I could make it up. was down about 500 of that and started hitting a few good hands and ended up only about 1300 down on the night. I was happy with that.

I played some MS Stud and real low level. Loss $200 earlier but went back as I was leaving and hit a 3oak on the first hand. Didn't win another hand after that, so decided to call it a night and took a couple hundred win off MS Stud.

I did about 2800 TC on the night, a little more than I wanted but thankfully those last 300 was what brought me back.

Had a couple meetings the next morning but my lunch got cancelled, so headed to Portilo's as I heard some good things about them on one or all of these boards. Place was packed, worse than In and Out can be but was pretty quick to take orders and get them out. Had the Italian Beef, Fries and Shake. Pretty good.

Found my flight was delayed so headed to Wild Horse Pass Casino for about an hours. I really like the feel of this casino. Feels and looks alot like Red Rock in Vegas. The center bar only had 5 play quarter STP but decided to play 10 Play dime just to kill some time. I liked the vibe, to bad the Harrahs wasn't more like it.

I am now at the airport but will start posting pictures. If anyone has any questions, let me know.

Until my next Vegas trip in July, these side trips will have to do
