Preface: I hope no one has a problem with my posting on both boards and you might even have to read both to get the full trip. Heading out in the morning.

I should first start that this will be my first dual TR and will probably not be as successful as others have been able to do it and may be my last (back to the coin toss). I suspect they will take different paths depending on each asylums “inmate” participation. I have met people on each and enjoy both (even if I am not 60 nor a granny as @undathesea might believe :) and I don’t really play slots) and will give back to each. While I am sure there will be some of the same posts in each, I suspect that each will have slightly different content. This is not really the tale of two trips but more like the Ying and Yang of a single trip or maybe just my Bi-Polar ramblings. See, I already can’t figure it.

If you are looking for a lot of table play, big bacc bets, escorts and clubs, you should keep looking but I can point you in the right direction: @shifter , @Broncofn , @PayTriple just to name a few.

This will consist of mostly Video Poker with a chance of Carny game play. There will be some drinking and a VERY good chance of a lot of drinking and a few good meals.

Beyond this post, most of the detail writing won’t happen until I get back but expect a lot of pictures to be posted throughout the trip. Most will be in focus (see good chance of a lot of drinking above).

This will be a quick weekend with a couple things on the agenda but very little else planned. Trying a couple new hotels for a change but I will be back at my homebase at MGM in July.

I will be hitting town around 10am on Friday the 20th and leaving at 6am on the 23rd (have to head to Austin for work). If anyone wants to grab a drink or food, let me know as it is always great to meet new people.

    Accommodations/Offers:

Cosmo – 20th to 22nd – I have been wanting to give them a try and this appeared to be a good weekend for it. I was able to get a great host referral since I don’t have any real play there. After a couple quick emails, I had a Terrace Suite comped, $500 in FP and expect reasonable F&B to be covered. Even arranged for pick-up at the airport. While they were willing to comp the Terrace Suite, I had them move me to a 1 Bedroom Terrace in the East tower. I went back and forth on this. Since I am solo the suite seemed like a waste and while the comp was just a little more for the suite, even that little can go to other F&B comps, well more B. Plus, this puts me in the East tower and closer to casino, food and strip.

Caesars – 21st to 23rd – I had a number of offers through CET and from what I knew, I could only take advantage of one. For the most part, that will always be the Freeplay for me as the other offers rarely interest me. Decided to reach out to my host at Planet Hollywood and see what could be done. I knew he could book me at any Vegas property and I wanted to try something different from PH. Decided on Caesars in the Augustus tower with a fountain view. Since I haven’t checked in yet, I never know what I am going to get but sounds good so far. Now, for the offers. I found out that they can stack a hard and soft comp. The requested hard comp would be the Freeplay and the soft was a slot tourney. I have never been to a slot tourney and never really interested me but if I make it that way, at the right time, I will participate, if not, oh well. However, after I thought this was the plan, I found out that the freeplay offer was blacked out for those dates (I will never figure out CET offers). Here is where a host become important. He move the hard comp to a Tablet give away (which I am still not sure exactly what tablet it is, other than it is a Samsung) and added some freeplay manually. It was less freeplay than expected but better than nothing. Ended up being about two and half offers booked for the same weekend.

    Activities and Dinning:
    1. Henry’s - have to try this SREB that everyone is talking about
    2. Slot Pull with the group from VF. Not really a slot guy but like meeting new people and I don’t see a craps meet going on this weekend (not a craps guy either but would join in).
    3. A shit ton on DSTP Video Poker
    4. Slot Tourney at Harrahs but only if I happen to be available as it starts at 10-11am and that might just be too early for me.
    5. Pick up Tablet at some point, if I remember.
    6. That is it for the planning … told you not much planned and nowhere near as organized as others around here but going solo and I like it.

    Gambling:

From a gambling perspective, I have a couple things I would like to accomplish:
    • Stick to 10 Play DSTP VP (DDB/TDB). Will start at dollars and move to quarters if the going gets rough. Based on the last couple trips, I do better with the 10 Play machines. Anytime I moved to 5 play or even 3 play, I could not win to save my life. I am sure there will be some single line play but hopefully just enough to get bar drinks and nothing serious
    • Hand-pay at 5 figures or better. This shouldn’t be too hard playing dollars 10 play but it eluded me on my last trip and nothing bigger than $4k handpay (single Royal).
    • Play some MS Stud at CET properties, since not available at MGM.

As I have started off other trip reports …. I will do it again.

Thanks ... I have my walker all packed.

I have been watching your Dreamcard pics ... and if DSTP is beating me hard .. it might be a good change.

I don't think you'll be upset if you do. In fact, I had much more fun play DC than I did DSTP / STP this past trip. It's my new go-to.

Playing Boner Poker multi-play yields MANY 4OAK opportunities. Outside of JoB, BP, and DW, I think the next one on the list I'd play is DDB.

Here are the dream card frequencies by game.

    Jacks or Better 50.5%
    Bonus Poker Deluxe 31.3%
    Bonus Poker 46.7%
    Double Bonus Poker 33.7%
    Triple Bonus Poker 27.0%
    Double Double Bonus Poker 31.0%
    Triple Double Bonus Poker 26.7%

    Deuces Wild 59.0%

Good luck... I'll be subscribed regardless. :)

I will check it out. I like and know DDB and TDB but it looks like BP and DW would be my better choice (I can't handle JoB anymore).

Yeah... JoB is pretty damn boring... but after playing DDB and TDB... you might not like playing BP either.

At least with DW you can hit four deuces and with a dream card more than half the time, you've got a pretty decent shot at it.

I like DW but generally just play at quarters to kill time at bars but this might be the trip to change that.

I actually can't stand DW, but only because I probably don't play proper strategy.

I practically toss out any starting hand that doesn't have a deuce in it. :)
