I am more of a lurker than a poster but I have a question. After reading with great enjoyment all the trip reports From the cast of characters that frequent this site I see that most people stay and play at Wynn / Encore / MGM /Aria et al but rarely do I see any reports from people staying and playing at Venetian / Palazzo. My wife and I will be staying there in October for 4 days and was wondering why there isn't much love shown for V/P.it seems that it is very nice property to stay and play and is well reviewed . Is it poor dealers / poor pay tables / poor atmosphere lack of quality comps or is it just my imagination.. Also realizing October is a ways away would like to meet any and all of you if a meetup is planned or is being planned. Hope to see you in Vegas in October and thanks for your insights to this property

I'm a big fan of VP. Stayed at Venetian twice. Been staying at Bellagio last couple years because of better offers. Considering staying at Palazzo next trip for a change of scenery of North end of strip.
But to your question, I have not seen much love for VP either so I am interested to see responses.

For me it's the atmosphere and suite offerings.

I've stayed in both and really enjoyed my stays. The regular rooms are great. Big. But its not cheap.

I do not know how V/P is lately for table players, but several years ago, they drastically cut back on comps for table players. I used to primarily play UTH (still do, when I do play tables). I was a table minimum player back then, so I did not get much comps anyways, but people I know who played bigger said it was like the lights turned out, as far as comps goes. I think this left a sour taste in the mouths of a lot of comped players.

I do know of some slot players who stay there often now, and it seems they get comped fairly well.

This was one reason I remember for many not returning. I know the comps have improved lately at least for us as we stay and have stayed quite often so for many people I think it comes down to where they are taken care of and are comfortable staying. It is a nice property as you stated, and the rooms are larger for a standard room in comparison. It does have many nice restaurants as well, but the vibe in Venetian can be turn off for some I think as well, where the Palazzo is usually much more sedate. I think as time goes you will see some reports from V/P more. Hope you can add one in October, would love to see it through others report!

Too far from center strip. People are too old. Ceilings are low. They feel dated compared to the newer hotels like Aria/Cosmo, etc. Suites are worn out. I never win there also. :)

My recollection was that they not only almost totally eliminated comps and bragged about it, but actually canceled previously-confirmed comp room reservations on people at the last minute. I was also a table minimum player (mostly at Mandalay Bay) back then and wouldn't have been affected, but just hearing about it made me not want anything to do with the property. I also find the crowd is a bit too convention-heavy for my liking, the layout drives me crazy, and then of course the same personal issues that many other people have with Adelson.
