Things have been going well. Getting a lot of play the last day and a half but pretty much even. Fun tables though. Down about 25% on the bankroll, will probably up the bets tonight and see if I can book a win. Had a late lunch so cancelled the Carbone reservation. Will probably just go in there when we need a break tonight. 3 days will not be enough this trip.

The plan wasn't to completely forgo Carbone, 7:30 was just not a good time anymore. The dice were hot and we just got caught up. We were going to go at 9:00 but next thing we knew it was after 10.

Just means I need to plan another trip quick. This is the first time we've been after Carbone opened that we didn't eat there.

On the plane now. I'll recap later.

@Broncofn is referring to our trip back in July when we were all supposed to go to Carbone. (@Way2fast and @44inarow)

As we arrive to go to dinner, Bronco decided to cancel and we had Allegro instead, which wasn't anywhere near as good.

It pissed my off so much that I have his name in my phone as...

So I owe you an update on the rest of my trip. Saturday started out with a walk up the strip north from Aria. We decided on Giada for breakfast, both were very happy with our selections. I had the Sunrise Polenta Waffle and a side of bacon, very good. My wife had the Breakfast American with poached eggs and the meatballs. The meatballs were just so/so I was not really impressed. She said that everyone in Vegas can do a very good poached egg, Giada included. One thing about the restaurant in general is that Giada sure loves herself some Giada. Her name is everywhere in case you forgot where you were eating. No big deal, we just thought it was funny. After breakfast we continued north up the strip. We walked through Flamingo and came out at the Linq Promenade. We checked out what was new there and decided we should head back to Aria to get ready for our Red Rock tour. We got back quicker than expected and left us a little time to play before we had to go. Nothing of note at the tables there, it was up and down and we lost a few dollars.

A van picked us up on the lower level at 12:30; we had one more pick up at Excal then off to the tour company’s offices to pick up our vehicles. We hopped in the little 3 wheel cars and got instructions on how to operate them and were soon off on the city streets. It’s about a 20 minute drive in the 3-wheelers to get to the visitor center at Red Rocks. The first stop is the visitor center; we stopped for about 20 minutes. I think this stop could have been a little longer; there is a lot of good information in there about the geology and animals that live there. I felt a little rushed. The next stop is Calico Rocks, you can see people climbing here and just take in a great view of the rock formations and beautiful colors. The next stop is High Point overlook; this provides an incredible view back toward the valley. The final stop was Pine Creek Canyon, more great views here. Then we headed back to the starting point. You drive the whole scenic drive through the park, the guides make sure that you make the whole route safely and offer some insights into the canyon itself, but not a ton. Doing this tour definitely made me feel like I want to rent a car and explore the area quite a bit more. I could spend a full day out there hiking and exploring. It was cold in those open air 3 wheelers; I thought the tour was worth the price, but would only do it once.

After we got back to Aria a shower was in order to warm up and refresh a little bit. We were hungry and decided that Noodles at Bellagio was a good idea. We got there and there was a bit of a line, I was getting a bit hangry so my wife sent me off to the craps table while she waited in line. I bought in, the shooter hit a couple points and I made a quick profit. I got the dice hit a point and then quickly crapped out. After I sevened out I checked the phone and saw we had our table already. I cashed in for a quick $175 profit. We got the Tempura Shrimp, Sweet and Spicy Noodles with barbecue pork and Udon noodle Soup with barbecue pork. I enjoyed our meal, simple but I think they do a good job. Something happened and my wife almost got immediately sick on the walk back to Aria. I put her to bed and then headed down to play a little more. Things didn’t go as well as earlier in the day. I lost a small buy-in quickly and then went back up to check on things. After determining that she was in for the night I decided to make another go at things in the casino. I lost another larger buy-in and said that was enough for the day and called it a night.

I’ll be back later today for the Sunday recap.

Sunday brought us to the last full day of our in Vegas. We got up and decided to head to MAG for breakfast. I got the special Benedict for the day, beef instead of ham, it was very good. My wife got her usual of the Ham and Cheese Crepe with a poached egg. Sufficiently satiated, we began our daily strip walk. Again we headed north to see what we never got to last trip.

We didn’t really make any stops on the east side of the strip until we got up to the Wynn. We walked in by their shops and headed toward the gaming area. Even though they only have 2Xs odds, we decided to play some craps. This is where our luck really started to change for the better. We were playing the ATS feature bet and it hit 4 out of 5 rollers for either the small or tall. I did something I have never done before while rolling, I got the dice set a point and then proceeded to roll 2 – 7 on consecutive rolls, knocking out the small in 5 rolls and crapping out on my 6th after setting a point of 9. We played maybe an hour and tripled up our buy-in. On the way out dropped a C note in one of the Wonka machines. My wife then swore off “Stupid Wonka” we’ll see how long that lasts. While I have never stayed at the Wynn and their gaming conditions are not favorable to the player, it does impress me every time I’m there. I always play the inside numbers, after a point of 9 was made, I forgot to replace it after the next point was set. Of course the next number rolled was a 9, I softly said to my wife I forgot to place the 9. The boss heard me and told the dealer to set me up and pay me. He said that someone should have reminded me. Their service really is impeccable; I need to convince my wife that we should really stay there even if just for 1 night.

We exited Wynn and crossed the street for the fashion show mall. There were a couple of gifts that still needed to be purchased and we haven’t been in the mall in a few trips. Nothing too exciting in there, so we pretty much made it a quick walk through. Continued back south, walking through TI, and Mirage. We headed into the Forum shops and there we were able to spend a little money. Some gifts were bought and a few things for us. We then headed into Bellagio. Another craps session at the Bellagio and another quick win, in about 30 minutes we doubled up. We decide it’s time to head to the room and drop off our purchases.

After a quick respite in the room, we headed down for more craps action. We treaded water for about an hour and then the buy-in just went poof. By now it is getting close to 3 and I am once again getting hangry and a snickers isn’t going to satisfy. Knowing that we had a 7:30 reservation at Carbone we were a little torn on what to do. We decided to just go get something and see what we fell like later. The choice was between Giordano’s or Bobby’s Burger Palace, we usually hit up one burger place a trip and hadn’t yet, but Chicago style deep dish is tough to pass up. We ended up at BBP, that didn’t disappoint. I had the Philly, I was warned that it is hot, which worried me a little because I am not that into spicy food. My wife had the Crunchburger with red onions. We also got fries and onion rings. All were very good; the Philly is not too spicy at all, just a nice heat. I really liked their onion rings; the batter was not too thick and spiced well. Back to the room to get some more cash out and hit up the craps tables again.

This was the most fun session of the trip, most profitable as well, but the table was really just a lot of fun. Things didn’t start out great, after we got down there and quickly had to dip back into the pockets. But it turned around in a hurry as things often do at the dice table. There were 3 straight shooters that hit one or the other tall or small. Then a few up and down rollers and the dice went to this young couple that was just playing the pass line for the minimum with no odds. The husband had a decent roll and really got us back our first buy-in, not bad. Then his wife went on a heater and turned the whole trip around for us. She quickly hit the tall, when she hit the Yo she was celebrating as much we were even though they won nothing. My wife was intermittently playing the ATS and I was all the time, luckily she played it here. She knocked out a few points and was slowly knocking down the small. She only had the 2 to go, the first roll with the 2 remaining my wife threw a quarter out on aces, 3 came up. She wanted to put another quarter out there but held off. A few more numbers hit and then I decided to put a dime out on aces, my wife followed with 5 for her and 5 for the shooter, BOOM. Aces hit and we are all winners. The young couple was so excited, that made me almost as happy as winning for us did. She made a couple more points and then crapped out. They decided to color and head off, it was at this point the wife of the young couple realized that the black chip in her hand was $100, she freaked again. They had turned their $60 buy in to just about $300 and were absolutely thrilled. They thanked us and were off to have a nice evening. We stuck around building our stack a little more since we were rolling next. We each hit a couple points and then colored up ourselves with nearly a 4Xs profit on that session!!

By this time it is close to 7 and we decide that if we are going to Carbone, it’s not going to happen at 7:30. So we head up there to cancel our reservation and make sure they have availability around 9:30, they do but we did not get a new reservation, we would just walk in. At this point MY wife and I had to split up to do a little shopping, the trip wasn’t the only gift for each other. So we both went on our merry ways, I suspect we both went to Crystals, but I am not sure. Yes regular people can and do shop there. I made my way back up to the room and on the elevator there was another couple, the wife made the comment that it looks like someone had a better day than they had when she saw the bags, the husband commented that it wasn’t me though. We all had a good laugh. As I turned the corner out of the elevator lobby I saw my wife walking down the hall, she told me she would be waiting for me at Starbucks, I saw her before she saw me and I told her to close her eyes. She didn’t see any of the bags. I dropped off my purchases reloaded the wallet and then met her back at the elevators.

Before we made it to the tables, the siren’s song of Wonka grabbed my wife again, never again lasted maybe 9 hours. She wanted 2 Cs this time and that was going to be the last of it forever, well after running about $65 through and actually up a little she hit for $400. She ran that down to $600 and cashed out a nice win, hooked again on those damn Oompa Loompas. Back to the tables. We only brought down money that would keep us on the winning side of the ledger as the trip was winding down that evening. If things went south quickly we would just go get some dinner, if not we would ride things out. There was nothing of note on this session, we played for a couple hours and the buy-in dwindled. We walked away from the table with $60somehting. We hadn’t played any roulette this trip so decided to just throw the 2 greens on black. It hit and I took one of the greens off and put it on 35, black hit again, but not 35. Did this a few more times increasing the size of the bet on 35 and just rolling the black over until either 35 or red hit. Red came up first. By this time it was too late to go to Carbone, I know, I know. Five50 is not a good substitute, but it sufficed. In order to make up for the Carbone snafu I told my wife we will book our next trip this week. Then we stopped in the host office, saw the host on duty and all of our food was taken care of. I thought that was reasonable for our play. I never get my individual session data from the pit when I leave the table. I probably should, it seems like average bet was a little light. I wonder if some of the time my wife and I weren’t rated together. Oh well.

Sorry for the long post, but winning days are more fun to write about than losing days.

Great recap. Kudos for remembering all the small details 4 days later. I can't remember that much 4 hours later.
