Not sure where the thread should be, so the powers that be can feel free to move it.

I have never been to Vegas on what is traditionally a busy weekend (Superbowl, March Madness, New Years, etc). I am trying to plan a trip for New Years, and I was curious as to how insane the crowds are, and how difficult it is to get tickets to some of the headline concerts? We normally stay at Aria, but my wife is a rather large Sting fan, and he is going to be at the Cosmo.

If I normally get a sky-suite comped at Aria, is that significantly more difficult to get at New Years, and should I expect the possibility of getting bumped by larger players?

NYE is the worst IMO. Its amateur night. But the places are packed to the brim. Most folks will get less than they are accustomed to. To get a sky suite I would think you need a $50k LOC or comparable theo.

You'll do NYE in Vegas once.....

Everything is inconvenient. Gambling? Forget it.... Tables are packed.... Not packed like a busy weekend..... Packed like you can't move. Every Slot/ VP machine is taken. Restaurants and clubs are insanely packed.

What pisses me off the most is losing the ability to freely casino hop. You're seriously limited in your movement. Property bracelets and the like. NYE sucks. As mentioned in a previous Super Bowl thread, the only way to fly is the invite only hosted parties with open bar, food throughout the night, fireworks viewing, drawings etc.

If you haven't received any NYE hosted event offers, there are plenty of restaurants and lounges that offer packages from $349 to $599 pp, all inclusive. If you're a comped sky suite level player, your host likely has something for you.

Well, thanks for the answers. I think I am going to divert my attention back to the Caribbean after reading these comments. Appreciate the info.

No worries. I hate to be Debbie Downer, but there really are that many people in Vegas for NYE and having your choices limited as a result does suck.

Problem solved......heading to Aruba, and going to do a one night solo trip while on business next week. Crisis averted!

Currently for NYE I have a Deluxe Room in a hotel I am staying at where I would usually get a 600-800 sq foot suite. I haven't stayed in a standard room in Vegas for years!! I will feel no guilt in short playing them for such a measly comp!

I've thought about NYE, but it just doesn't sound that fun. I suppose if I ever get to the point where my play warrants invites to the big parties I might entertain the idea. For now no way, I'll stick to either the week before or after Christmas.
