I made a quick trip to the Beau Rivage and New Orleans.

Some quick notes. MLIFE is really nickel and Dimeing its players.

I have to give Kudo's to the Beau Rivage hotel and casino staff.

The room was just average but the hotel and casino staff was spot on. I had Late check in and out with no problem. I have Platinum (Noir) too gated easy access parking.

I was not disturbed in the morning by housekeeping and late checkout was not an issue. I was fully comped for everything with limited play.

I dumped a lot in Pinball and Top Dollar $25 and got nothing.

The VP pay tables at the $5 was rape so did not play them.

Food at Jia was Great. Highly recommend

BR steakhouse was good but not Great.



I didn't earn as much Tier credits like in Vegas but I earned more EC. Which was nice since I just self comped.

The Property was very nice. Not Vegas but still a nice trip.

Harrahs New Orleans was good. I like the hotel there more. Nice corner suite but on my Promo table the Blackjack only paid even money. WTF? Caused a big stink but it was their rule to only pay even money on Blackjack. It was free money so I took it and left.
Still New Orleans is still a fun place to visit


Harrahs gulf coast had a HL room that was never open. (S17) So only H17 available to play.


Had a great time and won so I'll take it.

 

Coupons only paid even money on a blackjack. Got hit by that too my last trip. Apheat or one of those other types of gaming math blogs did a writeup on the best uses for the freebet coupons

 

The express comps at the Beau are horrible. Played 8-10 hrs there last weekend in HL room and got $50.
That place has really changed for the worse the last two years - don't see many happy employees.

 

Im a local and the Beau really has declined the past few years. I think some of it has been the national economy compounded by the oil spill and continuing slow Katrina recover. Overall the local economy is in the dirt.
