For all us Brits out there Norwegian Air has a 787 Dreamliner flying direct on Mondays and Thursdays. Return flights start at just over £300 including all taxes. It has Economy and Premium but no Business or First Class. Premium seats look to be around the £1000 price range but include a lot of extras as well as much more legroom.

Not sure. Dreamliners are very new so they may have Business or First for other destinations but doesn't show on the Vegas ones.

I don't see the point. If an airline wants to go all economy, why not use the older a330's or 767's. The 787 is an elite aircraft with arguably the best international business class going. I.E. profitable premium seating.

I've flown Royal Jordanian 787's in business and it truly is a remarkable experience, 2nd only to Qatar and perhaps Cathay Pacific.

    Fuel economy on the 787.

Norwegian is a low cost carrier.

The math doesn't work. A 240 million dollar Prius a Dreamliner is not.

Being a low cost carrier doesn't mean that they don't have money. Plus I think they only have very limited number of them and like half of them are leased anyway. Not 100% sure on that though.

It's not about having capital. SWA is a low cost carrier and can buy whatever they want. It's about what makes business sense. Whether lease or buy, utilizing a state of the art, revolutionary, high cost aircraft for coach only travel doesn't add up.

Premium seats equal revenue. Corporate clients fill international BC seats at 5k without blinking an eye. Ditto for first class cabins at 12k. Coach seats at $380, (on the high end) not so much. Extrapolating to 9 seats for you= $3420 which encompasses a larger area than 2 BC seats @ 6k-10k.

Norwegian's strategy is low fuel cost + high load factors + routes not served by non-low-cost-carriers.
