Looks like the Monorail going to go further south.

iIt would only be good if it reach the Airport and people can take it to and from the Airport to the Strip.

Going from MGM to Mandalay Bay is a complete waste since there is already a tram that runs from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay

i guess MGM wants to shuttle more customers to Mandalay to get it more business? I've always liked Mandalay, but rarely if ever go there because of the location.

That's awesome....you can pay to park at MB and pay to ride the shuttle to MGM (or vice versa)!!

The monorail, as noted so often, is of very finite utility. But anything that bypasses that shithole cluster fuck of the Trashy Castle is a good thing.

Eater thinks, and I agree, that this is probably a grab to get more people to (1) the convention center, and (2) the eventual stadium. Both make a fair amount of sense in the abstract, but what I don't agree with is how it's the public's problem to get more people from MGM Grand to Mandalay Bay. Going to the airport would be of general benefit; MGM Grand to Mandalay Bay should be something that MGM Resorts International is largely funding.

This is worthy of Vegas commandment status.

I believe there was at one point a long term vision that included the monorail running down behind the west side of the strip, too. Not sure if that is still in the long term cards, but starting the loop makes it possible. And while the airport would be more useful (although monorail passes would be pricier than a 2 person Uber) , the monorail itself would be much more worthwhile if it had stops on both sides. To me, one of the key benefits of the monorail is avoiding the heat in the summer months going between properties.

As for who is paying for it, that would be quite interesting. But I doubt public money would get approved for it.
