ahhh that joys of flying standby. My 2nd trip to Vegas I flew standby and it was an all day affair. My buddies were already there and I got there around 9 and told my buddies that when I step foot in the lobby to meet me down there and throw me 2 beers.....worked out perfectly. Hope you make it!!

 

Got lucky. Ended up going to MDW was 8th on standby list. Only one seat left and all families. I was the only one that got on. Whew!! Ready for a beer!!

I got a text update that my flight is delayed by about an hour. It has left Denver and is on its way here so here's hoping once it gets here nothing else delays us leaving anymore this evening.

 

Ahh so picked up a rental car. I like to have one while in town. Got good deal from hertz on Priceline. Cars were expensive this week for some reason. Got car. Toyota Corolla. Ok not the best but it will work.

Drove to cosmopolitan went down the ramp to self park. Could barely stop. WTF!!

Checked in at Cosmo terrace one bedroom. Perfect. The. Went back to airport and tole them about the brakes on the Corolla. They apologized and gave me a Ford Fusion. Much better

 

Currently at oyster bar at palace station for some pan roast. Awesome!!

 

Where are you from again??? Pan roasts are the shit, but mostly only coon-asses know about them. Looks awesome!

 

I'm from Syracuse NY originally. Been in Florida for the past 15 years. I heard about the pan roast there on trip advisor while looking for a good oyster bar in Vegas. Shit hole of a place but great pan roast.

Long day so far. Stopped by Costco and grabbed a few bottles of Veuve and some waters for the room. Didn't even know there was a Costco out here. Veuve only $38 a bottle. Had to buy 3 for good measure"!! Wife will be happy. Have to take it easy tonight though. Picking wifey up at midnight Vegas time.
