Seems like there's a fair amount of people from MN on the boards.

Which casino is your home base? I typically play Canterbury, but I live in the SW Suburbs so it's a 10 min drive for me.

Also enjoy running aces and TI - not a huge Mystic Lake fan.

Make an occasional trip to GC Hinkley - Like the vibe/energy there for a weekend.

when traveling for business, I have stopped at Canterbury for poker many times. Action was OK, but a lot of tight nits, easy to get them to fold. When I was there (this was quite a few years ago), the highest limit poker game was I think 15/30. Game was played totally differently than the wild games at Commerce Casino out in my area. At Commerce, it is all about action and raising on the come. At Canterbury, guys barely played a hand, and if they raised, they had the nuts. Easy to play against that type of opponent.

TI in Red Wing just put in a big wave pool, lazy river, and swim-up bar, plus I tend to have pretty good luck with BJ there. I also enjoy Black Bear in Cloquet. Great cheap buffet there.

Never been to black bear before. I do like TI, but it's a bit of a drive and a little smoky for me.

Heard about the water park - might be cool to check out, especially with a swim-up bar.

Had some negative dealer experiences at GC Hinkley so I avoid it. I like TI but from where I live we mostly end up at Mystic. I do enjoy playing at Canterbury when the horses are running.

Yeah TI is a drive for me. As I said Canterbury is 10 mins away. Love playing outdoor BJ when the horses are running. Only 3 weeks away.

Agreed on the outdoor BJ. If I lived 10 mins away that might be a problem for me. Be 30 mins to anywhere saves me from just stopping in. trackside BJ might make for a cool VB meet up this summer. Anyone interested?

I split my time between Diamond Jo and Canterbury.

Never had much luck at Mistake Lake and TI is a dump.

I like Diamond Jo as well, but it's quite a drive for me (1.5 hours). Craps and roulette is a nice change from MN though. Wish they would change that law.

Mystic is my home base, just wish it was a little less smokey
