$20 for self parking the day of events, or $30 for valet. $10 if you prepay, presumably at least the day before. While I am pretty sure that myself and most of the people on this board are high enough tier to not be personally affected by this, I think that, especially when the charges for hotel guests kick in, this plan could backfire in a big way. Most Vegas visitors are small-time gamblers and are not partial to one hotel. If they feel like they are being gouged at one set of properties, they'll just start staying at other hotels.

Yeah, when I was leaving the MGM couple weeks ago, on the ride to the airport, the limo driver said that they had just started to charge for parking that day. So, based on second hand news, MGM prop started a couple weeks ago

Wow, that's pretty aggressive pricing. Toss that on top of a resort fee, and you can be looking at room rates doubling or going up by half. That's significant.

That's just for events. I wouldn't expect that to be the daily fee for hotel guests.

VegasTripping recently reported that MGM delayed paid parking for hotel guests at their properties for six weeks or so.

I got an email last night from AXS about parking. Below is what is said.

Thank you for purchasing tickets to an upcoming show at T-Mobile Arena. We would like to share a few tips that may be useful as you plan your Awesome Arena Experience.

    COME EARLY, STAY LATE

As you make your plans for the evening, we encourage you to come out early and explore The Park and surrounding neighborhood properties, which offer a variety of pre- and post-show dining and entertainment options. Whether you opt to come out early or stay out late, we have a lot of surprises waiting for you in The Neighborhood!

PLAN AHEAD, THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET TO T-MOBILE ARENA

There are countless options for getting to T-Mobile Arena and many locations to park your vehicle. Consider your destination when you make your plan. What else do you have planned for your night? The closest parking space might not be the best option based on your plans. Meeting friends before the event? Start your night at a nearby resort and get out of traffic and on to enjoying your Arena experience. A short walk through our dynamic Arena neighborhood may save time, steps, and frustration on your way to and from the event.

Ride Share options, including Taxi, Lyft and Uber, along with shuttle locations, will all have designated drop off/pick up locations near T-Mobile Arena.

Reserved Event Parking is now available for all events at T-Mobile Arena. Reserved Event Parking is available on designated levels of the parking facilities at New York-New York, Monte Carlo, and the Aria Event Parking Garage. Parking in these locations is available on a firstcome, first-served basis and subject to availability.

We encourage guests to purchase event parking in advance as Reserved Event Parking may not be available for purchase on-site on the day of the event at these locations due to demand. Guests who do not have Reserved Event Parking may be turned away from these locations on event night.

To access Reserved Event Parking locations, please utilize Frank Sinatra Drive as your primary route.

    Well... here it is:

Parking and Your M life Benefits

    Dear Undathesea (you big stud),

Because you are one of our most valued guests we’re writing to inform you of changes in our parking policy that will not pertain to you, but you may hear about.

MGM Resorts International is taking steps to implement a $90 million parking strategy that will expand parking availability, provide technology upgrades and reduce the hassle and frustration resulting from outdated and inefficient facilities.

In order to fund these investments—and the ongoing maintenance and capital improvements of our parking facilities—we will be instituting fees for self- and valet parking. As a Platinum Member of M life Rewards, you will continue to receive complimentary self- and valet parking benefits.

Self-parking and valet parking will continue to be complimentary for our Gold, Platinum and NOIR M life Rewards members.
All parking is subject to availability.

The environment in Las Vegas has changed dramatically in the decades since amenities like low-quality dining, lodging and free parking were offered to attract customers. Growth in tourism and our local population—including many more cars on our local roadways—requires more parking availability, more efficient, modern parking systems and more frequent maintenance and upgrades to our aging facilities—all of which come at significant cost.

We are committed to continuing to develop the Las Vegas guest experience and hope that you will recognize the improvements during your next trip to one of our Las Vegas resorts.

Click here for a complete overview of our parking policy.

    Sincerely,
