Good luck with that location and the all-Asian theme. I don't know if they are drawing to a large enough base to be sustainable, or at least profitable

Well, I'd say China is a pretty large base actually .... and it is just a boutique hotel (201 rooms) nowhere near the size of strip resorts.

But yeah, timing does not seem the best for courting that market, and location remains a potential issue.

From that article: "The hotel-casino wants to position itself as an attractive spot for domestic Asian customers, instead of focusing largely on the international market."

yep, because 90% of the "international" players are from LA.

This will be interesting to see/follow. I hope they do well. I like increased competition for gamblers. It can't hurt.

Spring Mountain Road probably would have been a better choice for location. They could have tapped into the Gold Coast and Chinatown locals market for their Mon-Thu numbers.

So many proposals, but that sounds like the "Tokyo Casino," just west of I-15, between Owens and Washington. The location is about halfway between the Moulin Rouge site and Jerry's Nugget, or about a mile north of the Plaza downtown casino.

The developers intend to start with a small, slots-only casino, then expand to include hotels, restaurants, and a gondola spanning I-15.

Personally, I think the gondola is a genius idea, because I've noticed the homeless people east of the highway appear slightly more affluent than the ones on the west side.

As a white bread southerner that doesn't play bacc, will this place have anything to offer me? I might go just to see it out of curiosity but I said that about SLS as well and I still have never been there.
