    That's an interesting development:

Wonder if it's just for leverage in Oakland, Los Angeles, or San Diego. Still ... I would love to see this happen. It makes perfect sense to me.

I think the phrase... "Be careful what you hope (ask) for, you just might get it" applies here! I've been a Raider fan since 1975 when my Dad moved us to the same neighborhood in Pleasanton, California as John Madden, Gene Upshaw and other Raider players. This is when they were at their peak and Commitment to Excellence meant something. For the last 20-30 years, they've been a shell (and I'm not talkin' about Art) of the same team that had a winning tradition.

It's true, no sports organization stays on top forever, but with a few flashes of note (Gruden years and maybe even last year's team... see what I mean, I'm excited over a .500 season!) there's just nothing to get excited over. Plus, I remain unconvinced of Las Vegas' ability to offer a true major league sports environment for any sport. There's relatively little sense of community in Las Vegas... everyone there hails from somewhere else, just like to 40 million visitors who come through town annually. Can you put butts in the seats? I'm sure that casinos will help admirably with that, but will the fan experience be anything close to that it is in Oakland's Black Hole, or that in Denver or New York Jets?

I love my Raiders, but I'm just not excited about a possible move to Las Vegas, but I'll keep an open mind. (as if it matters?)

I have been hoping this would happen since rumbling started. Not because I'm a Raiders fan but for all the fans of teams playing them. Sorry not don't really care about the Raiders' home field advantage.

I would love to see the strip covered in Eagle green all week and the atmosphere it would create.

Yeah, dude, I feel the same way. It would be a pure shit show. The NFL should require the Raiders recreate their team in the image of their great 1970s teams just to watch the shenanigans unfold. But, of course, they won't do that because that would be too fun.

Still think this could all just be a leverage play with Oakland/LA/San Diego.

Could definitely be a leverage play, but a lot of moves start and end that way. Not every owner sincerely wants to move to a certain city, but he wants to move to a city that supports his team financially. If Oakland won't do that he'll find somewhere else.
