I've been debating doing a trip report the last few trips and I haven't done one yet. I guess I will change that with this trip. I might as well as I now have several hours to sit in my home airport. My plane took off and everything was fine but then we turned west and south, yes for most that seems like the correct route to Vegas, but for me I need to start out on a northerly track. As I expected we were returning to airport, we were alerted that we had a "Yellow Emergency" and needed to land back at our origination. After landing and getting back to the gate we were informed that we had an engine failure on take off. We landed safely so it was all good except for the delay. Now to determine when I could get into Vegas. I got in line and called the FF hotline, the hotline took care of me quicker than the in-person line and I am re-routed. I will now arrive about 4.5 hours later than I hoped and will miss some college football bets that I was hoping for, but no big deal really. As a kid traveling disruptions seemed to really get my father all worked up, maybe it was the 5 of us kids or he just gets worked up over travel I don't know, but I try not to let travel bother me all that much. Yeah it sucks that I will be into Vegas later than I was hoping but oh well, shit happens. I can't control it, the airline didn't want an engine to fail, so no reason to get angry about it. I'm traveling solo out there and meeting my wife there so I will just hang at my little airport and do some work.

    Here are the plans:

4 nights in a standard King at the Aria. It's sort of become my home in Vegas lately. I love the restaurants, the spa, the pool and the casino. I guess that is enough right.

Donny and Marie tonight, not really my cup of tea, but I will give it a shot. Not sure what the dinner plan for tonight will be.

Tomorrow I am getting a shave and day pass for the Aria spa. Probably have some pool time and put several miles on the old feet. I love just walking the strip, usually first thing in the morning, fun to see the night owls walking back to their hotels. In the evening we are going to see O. Probably head to Hyde before the shows to grab a drink, some light eats and catch a couple fountain shows. Dinner after the show, no reservation so I don't know where.

Monday there is nothing on the actual agenda. Pool time is a must, probably just head to the regular pool and hang out in the late morning and early afternoon. Maybe get another day pass at the spa, maybe not. Just relax and get a lot of time in at the tables. I was thinking about heading over to the Palms for dinner at Alize, but I wasn't thrilled with their menu. I might have to give it another look and make a decision.

Tuesday the day will be similar to Monday. We do have reservations for Carbone though, it has become one of my standards now too. We went on opening night and have gone every tip since.

Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi is always on the list so that will get done. I like to try a new burger place each trip, I think this trip will be Holsteins. Five50 is a must for me too, usually late night on the way back up to the room. I was thinking maybe the High Roller, I've done it once and it might be time to go up again. We always talk about going downtown but never seem to make it, maybe this trip.

I am mainly a dice player and typically play where I am staying. I usually play one session at Bellagio too, not really sure why I just end there and play. Last trip I played a little mini baccarat, I got my ass kicked, so I didn't play much. Maybe I will give it another go. I also keep telling myself that I should down for one of Aria's poker tournaments but I then seem to think they take up too much time. Maybe I will do that too, who knows. I have my biggest bankroll ever this trip, hopefully I start out winning and it will seem like the same roll as always anyway. That hasn't happened my last few trips, losses early and then recoup some towards the end. We shall see.

Not sure how much I will while I'm out there. Hopefully I don't peter out on the report.

Sucks about the delay but you have the right attitude about it. Get there safe and have a great time and here's hoping you'll have some good dice sessions

Well I'm on my connection now, my wife made it to Vegas already and should be meeting the driver about now. We were getting there minutes apart. Now it's hours. I hope she doesn't damage the bankroll before I get there.

Here's a tip, if you and whoever you are traveling with are traveling together make sure you link your accounts. In order for her to check in today before me I had to have them change my reservation to a non-comp. I was assured when I get there I can check in again and get it back to a comp. That better be the case.

Sounds like a great plan. Solid outlook on the travel delay too.

Good luck and sounds like you were already lucky to have engine failure, make it back to airport safely, and only be 4.5 hours later arriving! I see wins in your future! Hope your wife left you some money! Lol

So I finally made it to Aria around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. By the time I got to baggage claim my luggage was up, delta sky priority coming through! Walked out for a cab, yes cab, and there were no lines right to the hotel. My wife was waiting in the lobby for me with a Starbucks, how nice of her. Dropped off the bags and went straight down to the tables. Played craps for about half an hour and nothing was really doing. Decided to go up and shower to get ready for Donny and Marie.

After getting ready we went to Javier's for a quick bite. Just got some seafood nachos and guacamole. Very good as usual. The service was a little slow being that it was still early and not too busy. Oh well, we had enough time to lose some more at the dice table before we headed to the Flamingo. The show was a lot of fun, I'm not really a fan, but they were good and can't be a bad husband on vacation. After the show we walked back to Aria to play some before hitting the sack. Only $25 tables were open, I was fine with that just a little surprised there's usually $15 even on other holiday weekends I've been. Played for about 2 hours on a choppy table but still booked a loss. I was hoping to last until 1:30 to pull the 24 hour day but felt I lost enough by 11:30 and called it a night.

Hopefully I can post some chip porn later.

Sunday's gaming went about as well as Saturday. Only one be session were we even broke even. The rest were losers. The break even came largely in part to a well timed straight 12 bet. Hopefully things turn around on that end.

Meals were excellent though. Breakfast at MAG, I had raspberry and peach crepes, their "thin pancakes" my wife had the ham and cheese crepe with a poached egg. We ate a very late lunch at yellowtail, split the popping spicy crab roll, shrimp tempura roll and the seafood dynamite. All very good, the pop rocks in the spicy crab was a different experience. We played for a bit at bellagio before going to see O. After the show we had an excellent dinner at Prime. Dry aged rib eye, French onion soup, oysters, Mac and cheese, and the jalapeƱo cheese broccoli.

Got up and hit the gym this morning. Maybe the exercise will help change up the luck.
