We have some of the classics, Merion, Aronomink, Pine Valley. What courses have you enjoyed in the Philadelphia area?

Played Tattersal many years ago. IIRC, it is a Rees Jones course. It was OK, nothing great. Also played both of the Philmont (?) Country Club courses. Played Seaview out by Atlantic City and Blue Heron, and something with Sands in the name. Seaview used to be an LPGA tournament course many years ago and was probably the best of the bunch

Breeze, how many of the courses you listed are public access?

Umm, none, but I figured Ken could charm them.

As an aside, I know an assistant pro who got an invite to play Pine Valley and he struggled to break 90.

Too many Philly fans around there to bother with it. ;)

Veej, we gotta work on Cypress Point. Hey, Malibu, calling @Malibugolfer ...

Of course I would. There is a wealth of Metro and mid-Atlantic courses anyone in his/her right mind would love to play.

I played Pine Valley once. It was a great experience despite the ridiculously hot and humid summer weather. My host and I and his other two guests had dinner in the clubhouse the night before. My host informed us that the "snapper soup" was the club specialty and that the traditional accompaniment was a splash of brandy on top. A small bottle of brandy is on each table for that purpose.

It wasn't until around 10 years later that I discovered that the "snapper soup" was actually "snapping turtle soup."

I have a friend who lives close by and a few times he climbed the wall at dusk and played a hole or two.
