Appalling pictures. Apologies. Will need to google Macau central pictures for better shots of the city! In shot was The Wynn, MGM Grand, Lisboa And Grand Lisboa, President Casino, StarWorld Casino. There are considerably more small old school casinos as well in the old town.

Last session tonight incorporated some terrible slots play l, which I duly lost Some cash on. Keeping the family happy however for their bit of fun.

Back onto craps and an OK table saw me stay on for 2 hours with the same buy in bankroll. I did go down 60% of that buy in at one stage and vowed not to go beyond that bankroll. It didn't come to that and I managed to eek out a survival for a good lengthy period. My aunt was having fun throwing the dice for me for the first time ever in her life. On the last roll, I watched my chips on the table. When i
Could see an opportunity to take it all down and cash in, I did. I covered my losses on the slots and made another small win of HK$1,200. Here's the point...the current shooter was still shooting! And I walked from the table. I wanted to see if I could walk away a winner from a table that had a hot shooter instead of waiting for the 7 out. I would have needed to have risked part of the recovered bankroll again and I opted not to do this. The shooter lasted for another 12 numbers after I left the table, So I could have made more money easily (as it turned out). However this wasn't the point. I wanted to know whether I could walk away a winner, having taken 2 hours to recover the session with a small profit. This was more about whether I had the control, and therefore the discipline, to walk away a small winner. I succeeded tonight in doing that. I'm quite happy about it. Most of the time I'll grind it down and stick my shoes in until I've made a whacking load, or lost it all (and its usually the latter). We all know we cannot beat the house advantage and negative expectation in the long run unless we can exert control, restraint and even influence on the parameters of the game.

    The daily grind.....
Last night in Macau (hopefully for a good while, where I don't want to have any stupid urges to go back).
Session this afternoon was more of the same for me...lost 75% of my bank roll and eating into the last 25% and hung in there for about 30 minutes, before one regular shooter at the table in the City of Dreams (they now have 2 tables active, HK$100 minimum during the weekdays), helped shoot numbers (not points) but included lots of craps numbers as well. I managed to start skimming bets down as I drew closer to the break even point and fell short of break even during that roll by a mere US$15. So, I cashed out anyway after that roll, as I wasn't going to risk playing on when the table had seen only a couple of points rolled between going round the table twice. As I waited for the points to go through the system (yes, I know I shouldn't be lured by the points and comps), I played on a slot machine to see if I could recover my small loss. Played low level coin in, and withdrew US$200 shortly thereafter! So, earned my lunch as it were, and survived again.

So as of now, I'm slightly up on this trip by fractions (maybe US$100). However, I've covered dinners, lunches, and things to do for the family, but need to cover the cost of one room.

I keep thinking back to last week, where I would need to recover HK$45,000 (US$6,000) to break even. I know you shouldn't think about the past event to control your actions going forward, but I do it nonetheless.

I have found that in my play, I do better and fare MUCH better when I am willing to walk away from the table and take a long break when I don't worry about time on the table or comps. When I play to win, but want to play for a while (hours), I know that the tables suck my bankroll eventually. This is what I find the comps system does to you. It kind of makes you slightly irrational, and that moment of confusion leads to losses for me. I know I shouldn't justify comps. If I have to end up paying for things, then just pay for them. It's much much cheaper. I need to lose that 'requirement' to have to play hours for a card rating and comps. It's easier said than done of course as we all chase for the wins that we strive for when rocking up to a table.

My third night in Macau, and I've not seen one person drink alcohol in nearly 3 days. Slightly different to Vegas then......

Oh shit. Imagine a table that does PSO everywhere you go. A whole
Table PSO two rounds. Total bankroll gone and reserve taken on top. 2 hours...

I think I'm in a gaming slump. Time to cut back and wait until Vegas in April, and curtail further play throughout the year and focus on Vegas.

There are obviously times where the game is going to go totally against you. The key is when to stop and move on. I didn't move on and tried to force a situation, because I was there to win. Imagine going to Vegas for a week, and stopping playing every day in the first 3 minutes of play because you had set a limit of 3 losses in a row (hands of baccarat, blackjack, spins of the wheel, slot machine time, seven outs, whatever).

It's realistically not going to happen like that. What we can do is MOVE to another place, or another game, and just break it all up. THAT, I failed to do...again.

It's always interesting that we as thread readers always want to hear the positives, the wins, the action and success, but we don't like to dwell on the losing, and reading about how someone lost again! I agree with positive attitude, but I also think that how the experience of someone else has coped with a loss situation is good to be shared. We can learn from it, and I've read enough on this Forum to benefit from the experience of others.

So, I'm just giving back a little of my experience and telling you guys where I think I've made mistakes and how to reduce the losses in similar situations.

I've got two more trips before Vegas that has CRAPS availability, and one with Blackjack. UK, Australia and a Cruise Ship out of Singapore (oh, that means craps there as well...oh shit). So...3 more venues for craps BEFORE 3 whole weeks in Vegas in April.

2016 was a miserable year for many reasons. Here's to 2017...and all the joy I hope it brings to you !!
