Talked to a guy on my last trip at the craps table. Every roll he would bet a $10 boxcar and if it hit, he'd parlay it. He ended up losing it every time while I was at the table (about an hour). However, he said while he loses it frequently, if he can hit it back to back, it's 10 grand. Basically he needs to hit it once a trip and he covers his bankroll.

While I'm quite aware of the odds, it's still an interesting concept. I bet the hardways if I'm on the PL (play a lot of the darkside), and will parlay the first hit, then press half the winnings after that. I've taken down some large wins with that strategy. With an upcoming trip, I've been thinking of some sort of bet that, while rare, would have a big ass payoff. I mean people bet the firebet all the time which is a huge money sucker. I've thought about doing Glen's strategy of setting aside $100 (or $1k) and using that money to try to hit and parlay an even money bet (field, BJ, Baccarat, Red/Black, etc.) 4 times to run it to 1600. I could throw an extra $1 on the hardways to parlay three times to try to snag $10k or $4k on the 4 and 10.

So does anyone have any interesting longshot bets they play or have seen others play? It'd be interesting to find a bet that, although not a great bet odds wise, would be a trip maker if it came in.

Hell the bonus bet is a great one when it hits. But it's a sink as well. 17,600 and 3500x2 if all hit. Just 3500 of one side hits. Based on 100 chips of course

And not a trip goes by where it doesn't hit at least once. I hit it twice while rolling but didn't bet it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm up significantly lifetime on the AT/AS. The firebet is interesting though, because I've never hit a 6 point firebet. Hell on most trips, you're lucky if you get a 4 pointer to hit. That's why that guy's boxcar bet was interesting. He's definitely burning through some cash, but if he can catch back to back 12s, it's about the same as hitting a six point fire bet. I'd say I've seen back to back 12s rolled fairly often, certainly much more often than a 6 point firebet....

Quite frankly, as much fun as the firebet can be, it's gotta be the worst bet in the casino. The edge is like 18%, and because they payouts are so big, it's rare to ever even see a payout on it. At least with the AT/AS, you get some entertainment value out of it almost every roll. If someone rolls 6-8 times, you're probably within a number or two of hitting one of them....

Funny thing is I use the at as to gauge how long the roll has been going and turn off bets or back down the presses to starting to try and save some of the winnings

Why do $10? Do $1. I have seen boxcars many times repeat. Eleven too.

It's always going to be a negative expectation game no matter what.

3 team parlay on the field is one that i play. For some reason, it seems when I play that field rolls come in bunches 3,4 in a row. So i started doing this and had a gew very nice wins, especially when i got the 2/12 in there a few times.

I will throw 500 on it and let it ride for 3 rolls. Hardways parlayed are a good one as well

I might have seen back to back boxcars maybe once out of 100,000 rolls.

I like to play similar to the boxcar parlay but I do it with horn high yo. My payout isn't quite as high but I regularly can hit 2-3 in a row.
