Anyone stay or play there recently? Bachelor party in September and Excalibur appears to be 1 of the few casinos I can still get the 3 nights comped at (+$150 resort credit). I think the bachelor is staying at MGM grand so I just want to be in that general area but don't need to stay at MGM since it sounds like others are also not staying at MGM.

I booked in a royal tower queen which I believe is the renovated room/tower. I mainly play blackjack (25-$100+) and after reading so much of it on this board, want to try out baccarat for the 1st time. How are the rules going to be? Will I be able to find a 3:2 BJ game at $25+, and a baccarat game where I can touch the cards for $50-$100 or so minimums? For the room I mainly just need somewhere clean to sleep, but also like to gamble early mornings by myself so being able to do so at the casino im staying is preferable.

My other option is Luxor where it appears I can get 3 nights + same resort credit. NyNy is only 2 nights no resort credit and the higher end MGM ones are even worse. I usually stay at CET but I haven't been in so long my offers seem to have dried up. Checked with a host and was told that weekend was going to be busy (sept 16-19) and nothing he could do for me in terms of rooms (can wait to see if I get Corp offers I guess)

Excalibur check in is terrible. The rooms aren't bad. I stayed there about 3 years ago.

Not sure if Excalibur has baccarat. NYNY and Luxor have it. MIDI games are going to be 100+. You are better off playing baccarat at MGM or Mandalay Bay.

Excalibur gets a bad rap but I like it. But then again I haven't been spoiled by free rooms at any of the top end resorts.

It was the first place I stayed at back in the mid 90's as a kid so that probably has something to do with it.

Thanks. I was initially thinking Luxor but Excalibur is a bit more north and in all likelihood the direction id be heading most of the time. Also I was able to book the renovated tower at Excalibur whereas I think Luxor was the pyramid rooms

I think you're right on Excalibur not having baccarat at all. It's not listed on the Excalibur website. Luxor only lists mini so probably not going to help me much by switching over there. I'll probably take your advice and head to MGM especially if that's where my friends are anyways if I want to give baccarat a try

I believe excalibur has some Mlife check in lines for invited guests. Also there is a side entrance to excalibur that can cut down your walk when arriving via taxi etc. This won't help for check in buy may cut down your walk if you are in those areas.

Last time I was in Luxor they had baccarat tables in their high limit but they weren't open. I am sure they could be opened upon request if the other tables in high limit are open.

The rooms are ok. They have a VIP check in line for Pearl and up. A Popeyes in the food court usually a $5 craps game. You should be able to get a decent black jack game at $25, prob less. There is no Bacc or high limit table game room. Easy Bridge to NYNY, and then across to MGM.

For a cheap place on the south strip Excalibur is fine. It's not Mandalay Bay or MGM, but your not paying those prices.

Ex is just too depressing and rundown for me

Thanks. The casino is depressing? The remodeled rooms look nice (at least in the pictures) and nicer than the pyramid room I can get at Luxor comped. I think I'll probably just keep Excalibur and see if anything opens up a bit closer. Wanted to get something booked now in case they announced some big boxing match that weekend (Mexican Independence Day weekend I think)
