I need to make an emergency trip to this part of the country, and based on short notice my best option is to take a comped room offer at HS. Has anyone been here? My only requirements are that I won't get murdered and I won't get bedbugs. Am I safe here?

I've been multiple times. It's....ok. The casino consists of four (five?) levels. All relatively small and all but one are quite smokey. I've never stayed in the hotel because I prefer to stay in Louisville at the Galt House. Not bad for gambling. The steakhouse is decent, I can't speak for the buffet.

The hotel isn't bad at all. You have nothing to worry about getting murdered. Most of the people are super nice.

You're probably thinking about Horseshoe Hammond. Now there is an area where you gotta pay attention off premises.

I'm originally from Kentucky and that was my home base casino for awhile. It's out in the middle of nowhere but not a bad area. The hotel is pretty decent and casino isn't bad as well. The steakhouse is good, buffet was just updated and 5x better than before, the hotel lobby restaurant has really good food as well.

If you have any questions let me know. I've probably made 100+ visits to that casino with 50+ nights stayed.

Forgot to mention. Try the new place there if u grab a meal. Smoke and Rye I think it's called I had a Ribeye and it was very good along with the white cheddar Mac.

Also, pit bosses are very liberal with comps there. So if you game some just ask them for a comp slip for there.

That is one nice thing about this property that I wish Vegas would do. Pit bosses have comping ability. Pit Bosses can comp rooms here also. It isn't uncommon if you are cashing out and they ask you do you want a food slip or if it is late they will ask if you have a room.

Very true. It was my first casino that I went to so I assumed all were the same. I go to Vegas the first time and ask a pit boss for a food comp... He looks at me like I'm a fuckin purple alien.
