So I decided to try Herringbone, the new fish restaurant in Aria.
I like Lakeside at Wynn and am always looking for nicer fish places.
PGP seemed to be somehow in play. Apparently the place was about to open as a lounge. Then
the F&B suit ate at the La Jolla Herringbone and went all in for it in Aria.
Almost all-in. They had already put all the new lounge furniture in the main room.
So, eating in the main room you sit in overstuffed chairs with communal coffee tables per se.
    The patio has conventional seating.
This was beyond uncomfortable and just plain odd. Too bad also because the food was good.
Let's see if they shake the $$$ loose to redo it before word of mouth (like this) hurts them.
My host (female) said the women hate eating there and I can understand how awkward it must be.
Great for finger food, but a main course? Not so much.
Shifter may want to move this to grub but the half assed way this was done screams PGP accounting.

    Malibu,

I did a review of Herringbone in my last trip report. I felt the exact same way. We were seated in the lounge area, with really low tables that you had to bend over to in order to eat. The ladies were wearing dresses which they did not like with the low couches. It was so loud in there with the DJ playing that we literally could not hear a thing our server was saying. The server looked like she got hired from a bottle service club and because she looked good in a short dress. Useless as a server. The ladies were wearing black dresses and they gave us white linen napkins, so the ladies asked if they had black napkins so they would not end up with white lint all over the dark dresses. Server said no problem. Black napkins never showed up so they ate the whole meal with no napkins. Asked the server what was in or included with certain dishes. She had no idea and had to ask someone else. She admitted that their training was lackluster and not very thorough. The food was really good. hard to say if they will make it with the current set up. I agree- great for appetizers or drinks, but for dinner - not a good time!

It's a Hakkasan gig so I'm not sure who ultimately makes the call but I was told the lounge change to a restaurant was definitely the F & B v.p.
Looks like I should have read your take V-bj, but it's been a crazy couple of weeks.

The chicken wings were fucking fantastic --- but you must like thai peanut sauce -- so if you do, you have to try them!

I thought it was fantastic, but I ate at the bar. I could definitely see how going there with a group and having to eat at the lounge tables/sofas would be pretty annoying.

we couldn't eat out on the patio the night we were there as there were 45 mph winds, and the patio was closed. being at the table right next to the Dj did not help either. Food though was excellent

Shows why that long bar had so many people eating there and no one sitting in the lounge.
Bar seating doesn't work for the wife and me together though. Not at all.

Agree with VEGASBJ. We walked in shortly after they opened and turned around and left. The patio wasn't open and there is no way in hell (being female) that I'm sitting on a low couch and table to eat dinner. And since I live in Vancouver the seafood heavy menu isn't a must.

I believe they've changed the seating, I was just at Aria but didn't go there but I believe someone told me it had been made over.
