Update: took 3nd at my BJ tournament table. They draw for WC entries tomorrow at 9:45. Not sure if I will make it or not. Cosmo Eggs Benny is calling my name.

Went old school and hit Gold Coast today. She wanted low limit pitch and they had it. She's up $205 for the trip so momma is happy.

I had a nice hit to get me back within shouting distance. Down $300 for trip so far. Low rolling and having fun. The episode from the other night has taken a toll so it's been very low key.

Interesting hand today. We went to Bally's after Giordanos. Played $10 3/2 shoe. Guy on first gets a hard 16 vs a 2 and he DOUBLES. Dealer says that's the first time he's ever seen that. Son of a gun if he doesn't get a 4. Dealer drew to a 20, but WTF. Dealer asked him 4 times 'double'?

Saw Daniel Tosh tonight. Funny guy. Nothing off limits. Nothing. Had a few guys from his show on too. Glad we went.

Finished with a burger from B&B and now in bed. Checking out of V and headed to the Rock. Love the rooms here but the place is just so busy. Always. And the table limits and conditions aren't good. God I sound old.

Pretty lame report this far. Will try to pick it up tomorrow. Feeling better every hour...

Thank you very much for the info. I knew you would not mind sharing.;);)

That was such back luck on the vp. Make sure to take full advantage of the comp and enjoy!

Went off the grid for a few. Have some good pics and stories to share. Will try to do so by the weekend.

Ok...to those that read this far, apologies for shutting down. Will try to recap some highlights:

I didn't go see if I got drawn into the WC for the BJ tournament. I played a bit in the morning at Venetian- just VP and nothing of note to record. We made the walk up to Cosmo for breakfast (had to have the EBSR), but it was an hour wait....ugh. Hit up Earl of Sammich instead and that fit the bill. Walked back to Venetian and decided to just check out early and head to RR.

Got out there around 1:30 and room wasn't ready, so we hit the pitch table for a bit- lost $500 or so. Room was finally ready around 3:30, so we went up and changed and hoofed it to Yard House to watch the end of the Packers game. Wow...what a game. Before leaving the Venetian, I had placed two bets.....ML bets on Packers and Steelers, as well as both teams with points and the Packers over 51. Obviously you know the outcomes, but here's the winning tickets.

We found a slightly better seat at the bar for the Steelers game and we survived that ordeal and celebrated with more beer. About $175 later, the game was over and we were happy folks!!

Woke up Monday and had to go cash the winning tickets. Drove back to the strip and did that, and then we decided to try a new Escape Room. We actually made it out in time (just the two of us). Had a blast. $30 per person and well worth it.

Red Rock was busy Monday night. So busy we decided to drive downtown to have more options. Funny / sad story at the Fremont. We're playing a $10 pitch table. Good table, nice dealer. No issues. Older gentleman, well dressed, squeezes in beside me and takes over 3rd base. Guy at 2nd is betting at least $100 a hand. Dealer is showing a 5, so we all double / split, hold...Dealer makes a hand, but old guy, who hadn't even gotten his 'white wine' yet, flips his cards and shows a hard 9. He stayed on a 9. Guy at 2nd flips a lid and cashes in immediately. Old guy is clearly embarrassed and is quietly apologizing. He was so shook, he walked from the table with his chips too. Shit happens...was interesting to see.

Downtown was it's typical self. Lots of pot in the air...cast of characters never change. The street 'entertainers' are an embarrassment...we could do without half naked dancing babies and such...but I guess that's all part of that 'charm' there. Anyway, packed it in around midnight and went back.

Had some good hits Tuesday morning at RR...then we went out to RR Canyon and hiked one of the moderate trails. Holy Bejezus. I'm in decent shape but I guess the altitude gets you. You start out breathing heavy and it just gets worse...but the views were amazing and we had a blast. Took us about 2 hours. Grabbed some sushi afterwards at a place called Sushi Fever not too far (5 miles) from Red Rock. Good place.

And to put a bow on this puppy...

Tuesday evenings at Red Rock they have a drawing / give away at 6:15. I was playing 100 line VP for for $50 per spin (.10 units)...got dealt Trip A's....know how many quads I filled on 100 lines?

Two. Fucking 2. And no kicker. A few hands later I got dealt Trip 6 and filled it 9 times. Had a good run there, but what could have been...

So while I'm playing, they read off 10 player card numbers to come up for a drawing. I pulled my card out of the reader just as they were saying the 3rd number....and son of a gun if they didn't exactly call my number....and I have 3 minutes to go find where they're doing this....so I grab Sarah from here table and head up.

So each of the 10 of us get one shot to play Plinko, with awards of $50, $100 , $500, $1000, $1500, and $5000. 1 slot for $50 and $5000 and 2 each for all others. Cash award. Here I am about to drop the puck....

Sarah didn't get a picture after the puck dropped..........

I won $100. SO disappointed. Right next to $1000. 2 people out of 10 did hit $5,000. One person hit $50. The rest were $1,000 or $1,500. A great giveaway...all for swiping your card. I had 75 entries...not a lot.

Had some more travel horror stories but bottom line we got home safely. SWA messed up our re-bookings twice, each time placing us on different flights....they need to up their game. Still fighting with Hotwire over the car rental fiasco, but hope to get that worked out. Filed a claim with Chase to dispute the charge too.

All told, the first day I was down about $2,000 and for the trip I ended up down $2,200. Not horrible and truly one nice quad from a winning trip. I tried my had at some $2 VP level on 5 play and couldn't make the magic happen. I got a ton of coin-in. It wasn't a 'sexy' trip for us...very much a chill, relaxed session...very enjoyable. Sarah took $200 cash with her to play with (with intention of getting more) and her $100 buy-in's and $10 to $15 per hand netted her a win of $50 for the trip (playing several hours each day). So happy for her...she needed to 'not lose' and she did just that.

Glad you had a fun time even given the nightmarish start and the travel issues. I cannot believe you only filled in 2 out of 100 on those aces, that is crazy. Thanks for the details!

Thanks for the recap. Sorry to hear you had a losing trip. To bad you did not win the $5K prize. Hope you had some nighttime fun this trip.
