Considering heading there for a short trip over Thanksgiving.
Anybody been there or any other casinos in the Punta Cana area that might be as nice or better.
Have not been to DR and don't want to commit to a place that I may regret.

I don't remember if either property had a casino, but I have stayed at both Catalonia Royal Bavaro and Secrets Royal Beach. Both places were fantastic. Restaurants were probably better at Catalonia just because of the variety, plus they have an all night food place open where you can get Presidente beer 24/7. Hit up Sandy the bartender at the main bar by the show stage and he will take care of you and drink mama Juana's with you.
Secrets is all-in-all a nicer place however. Less noisy, more laid back, better shows. Your go to bartender is Teresa at the small pool connecting the adult-only area to the rest of the resort.

We stayed at Iberostar Bavaro over the New Years. The kids went with us, it was a great experience. I played in the casino for maybe 30 minutes all week. The one at Iberostar is very small and had blackjack and roulette. And maybe 30 machines. If it where me I would save bankroll for Vegas

Thanks not really looking for a kid friendly spot.
Heading down with one or two other couples we go the Caribbean with every year.
HR looks like it has a bigger casino than most of the tiny casinos on the various islands.
I usually don't play at Vegas levels there with the exception of the Bahamas..
