I'd play roulette. Start out with four numbers straight up at a quarter each. If you get a hit press all your numbers another quarter. If one of those hit take 'em all up to $100. If one of those hits, mission accomplished. This is what I would do if I absolutely positively had to make a quick score. For me the only way to play roulette is to bet straight up on numbers and when I hit one I press the wagers with my winnings, but leave enough to behind to start over again if I have to. The key is to catch a winner on the first or second spin.

Guaranteed to win? No. But it's a good hit and run play that's worked well enough times for me to throw it out as an idea.

Now, to answer the question...
Pick a crap table...any crap table. Buy $500 worth of green chips.
Place a $50 bet on the hard 8 (or hard 6, if you're feeling more"average" )
Continue to make this bet (working) until it hits. When it does, it will become $500. Leave it out there.
When it his a second time, it will become $5000.
You will have 10 opportunities to hit the first one... and a 1-in-10 chance of hitting the second win.
Yes, it will take extraordinarily good luck to hit this, but having 10 opportunities to get that first one really helps (versus a single $500 hard-8 bet).

Another variation would be to do this with $25 bets, giving you 20 shots at the first one, but you would then need to leave $300 out there after the 2nd hit, and pray for a third hit.
(Bet $25, parlay it; it becomes $2500, take $2200 down & leave $300 on it... a 3rd hit gives you $5200 total. If it fails, start over with another $25 bet, pressing whatever amount is needed to secure a $5000 total bankroll when it hits the second time).
