I went to Vegas last July for a ten day stay. I landed and was taking Bell transport to the hotel.

It was a nine passenger van and I was one of the last to board. I noticed that it was like an oven (HOT) inside the van but I figured I just needed to get used to the Vegas heat a bit...

After a few moments everyone was complaining. We passed a sign at a bank or something and it said 116 degrees. We asked the drive why they don't have air conditioning and he replied, """" WE do have air conditioning, it just is broken"""""..

So about an hour after I checked in I got real sick with Diahhrea......It lasted over 4 days going from real bad and subsiding a little bit each day but still bad...I ate a lot of immodium ad.......

6 months of planning only to have a this happen......

Have you ever gotten sick while visiting las Vegas during your trip...?????????

I don't think a working air conditioning would've changed one bit for you. Either you drank or ate something bad or you had direct or indirect contact with someone who was sick.

Never been sick besides from gambling myself.

Never. I'll get sick after the flight home. Lack of sleep, too much drinking, dehydration and all the people on the flight who keep their blowers on high, spreading their germs around. Not always, but second or third day back, I start to get the scratchy throat etc.

Got a migraine on my last trip (in April). Woke up with it. Luckily my wife has Sumivel shots for her migraines, so she shot me up twice and I was headache-free by Noon.

However, I was groggy as hell all day... but I wasn't going to sleep through a day of Vegas.

I got food poisoning from something I ate at Westgate once while there watching a Steelers game. Luckily it was on Sunday and we flew home on Monday. It was the longest flight of my life.

Vegas is ripe for sickness beginning with the air travel and hotel stay. Then the handling of chips, dice, cards and money in the casinos. Coupled with stressing your body by overindulgence and its a perfect storm for sickness. My own defense is frequent hand washes and as much sleep as i can manage.

I was that guy and traveled on the plane to vegas with some kind of flu in March. Never really got over it on the trip. I don't know how my date put up with me. Went home +2700 so it was worth it.

Suck on the chips while playing blackjack and you'll build a tolerance to bacterial and viral infections. You can even use the flat surface of your incisors to scrape the black gunk deposits from the chips. There's a certain funk to it but I'm not fancy.

Craps as well with the dirty dice being passed around. The chips going in and out of everyone's chip stack. Lots of people handling the same objects - and you never know if the last person tossing the dice washed their hands after using the restroom. The dice go off the table and hit the floor - same dice! Now you are tossing even more germs around the table.
