looking to buy tics for the MJ One show at Mandalay Bay. Prices are really something. Cheapest tics are $95 for basically last row. I was wondering if tipping the person seating you could get you better seats. I know this works in places without assigned seats but since you are buying assigned seats could in work here. Anybody out there even tried this for this or any other Cirqus show? Did it work?

Nah... that won't work. Those guys won't know which seats have been reserved and which seats haven't.

What you can do though, is go to the box office before the show. When the casino releases their reserved tickets, those seats are up for grabs and usually are some of the best seats in the house. You can swap your tickets for those if you get there at the right time and ask the right questions. I've had success twice doing it before. One time I was denied because they said the casino used all of their reserved tickets.

Usually the time to go is about an hour or so before the start of the show. But, you can always stop by the box office any time it's open and ask questions to see if they will allow you to move into the casino seats and what time you should arrive to inquire about moving seats.

I would just look for open seats up front once the show starts and move up. I doubt the show is 100% sold out each show. Between all the MGM properties, they have a huge block of tickets reserved and not everyone shows up.

I had tickets for 3 different shows over NYE (Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, etc) and didn't go to any of them. So, there will be seats open up front in most cases.

When you say 'up for grabs' what does that mean? If I go there and ask for casino released seats will they just exchange them for the ones I bought? Thanks for this. This sounds like a plan. If it doesn't work I guess I could always just move to open seats. I plan on going on a Monday so I think there will be many unsold seats.

If I can remember correctly, we've never paid to upgrade. Just a straight swap. But I would go to the box office when they're open and ask questions long before showtime. That way you'll know what to expect and what time you need to be there to check for open seats if they're available.
