I'm driving to Vegas today from San Diego. I'm there with a buddy for work, but we'll definitely be having some fun as well.

In the past I've almost always stayed at CET properties, this time we're doing three different places. Starting at The D tonight. On Tuesday switching to PH, my normal spot. Then headed to Cosmo for the weekend.

Then gambling plan this trip is not to spend hours at any single table. I'd like to go up a bit, then move to a different table, different game, or take a break. I'll be playing mostly BJ, Craps, and Baccarat.

I'll likely hit a show or two, will do some dinners, and maybe even a night club. Hopefully I'll have plenty of chip porn, gun porn, and hopefully other good photos for the TR.

I played a combo of craps, BJ, and baccarat last night. Started with some craps. First shooter was my buddy. He hit one number, and a hardway, but it was a pretty quick toss. I was down about $300. Then it was me, a quick P7O, and I bought in for $300 more to make my bet. I was down about $800, and bought in for $300 more to make the next bet, I'm at $1,300 buy-in now; my BR for the night was $2,500. This is important later.

Dude didn't hit many numbers, but the hardways kept me in it. I realize it's a sucker bet, but I play it $25/5, two way, my control. I made it $50/5 a couple times when the point was an even number.

I was trying to keep track a bit of my tips. If I bet for the house, do I count the win as a tip, or just the bet? If so, I was at $185 in tips after craps, and left up $725. I cashed out for $2,025.

I have to add that I love the 10x odds here. My buddy left the table $85 down and I left $700+ up. The different is from the hardway bets and going max on odds, which he didn't do.

First impression this trip, host failed. I had a few text exchanges with him, he said that he was going to set me up with rooms. I go to check in, and nothing was set up. However, went into the host office and they fixed it all.

The D is a fun casino. But their drink service sucks. My normal drink is Don Julio and Red Bull, tall and double. They had no Don Julio. So I went with a Patron and Red Bull, tall and double.

Remembering my trip in December, I requested a bottle of Jordan. The server said that she didn't think that they had it, but would check. A few minutes later she returns with a glass of J Lohr stating that the bartender says that it's an excellent wine. I'm certainly no wine snob, but Jordan has ruined me.

I shot a quick text to my pen pals who said that we had to request the bottle from Andiamos, their steak house. A few minutes later she returns and I'm happy again, and continue winning.

As stated earlier, I decided to not spend too long at any single table. So I won at craps, went to BJ and won. Now it was time for some baccarat.

I'm still a newbie when it comes to Baccarat. From what I've seen, Banker will hit more than Player and they usually come within a few (or 5-10) by the end of the shoe.

I learned a very risky (and possibly expensive) strategy from my buddy PT that worked well for me this trip. If I lose when I think that I should win, I press. Early on I did partial press, later I did full press.

At this point I think I'm onto my second bottle of Jordan, and up $800 more at baccarat.

I'd brought $2,500 down to play, and had to pull the $1,300 cash out of my wallet to press on the losing baccarat streaks. I'm up about $8,000 after tips for the first day. I probably tipped $500.

End of day one for gambling.

I was scheduled for two gun shoots in the morning so I stopped drinking around midnight so I could be sober by morning.

I woke up around 0700, found some motrin, got ready, and headed out for the day.

If you folks don't have What's App, get it! I can't always get Tapatalk to load quick enough to make updates. But I kept my pen pals up to date and can now use that as a guide for what happened. Some of the things I sent them, I don't remember happening. My buddy (who was with me) mentioned the events that I texted, so apparently I did them, just don't remember.

Anyway, I remember that the night before I sent away some J Lohr. They brought two bottles of 2011 Jordan and then said that I needed to talk to my host for more. My host who I hadn't yet seen and messed up the reservation. Oh well. I switched to Captain and Diet.

I think I left off at getting ready to go shoot. I woke up after a few hours rest, and was ready to rock.

Time for the first Sig Sauer invite only gun shoot. For those that don't know, SHOT is Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade show and is open to those in the industry only. It's about 160,000 square feet of trade show, so pretty large. It's held at Sands Convention center in Vegas every year and for the last few years had coincided with AVN awards.

Some folks also get invites to gun shoots like this where we get to test new entries or something that might be of interest to us.

Before this trip I had made a few thousand dollar bets. I've even made a couple bets with two grand out there. But this is entirely new territory for me.


I had a bet in September where I was betting two hands of BJ at $500 per hand. But my normal bets are only in the $200-$500 range in BJ. With those two $500 hands, I split twice and double. I had $2,500 out there and was sweating it. Two of my hands were 12s against a six. Luckily I won them. I write this above to show that this bet for me, was massive and entirely out of my normal comfort zone.

And if I lose this bet, not only am I not up anymore, but my entire BR would almost be gone. I still had five more days, this was day two.

33-21, so lopsided! And five Banks in a row.

Checked on my friends who were just talking. WTF! They're in Vegas at two in the morning and weren't drinking or gambling.

So I wandered back into PH HL room. Sat at BJ, but really wanted to play baccarat. Went down a quick $800 before turning it around. Played one and two hands and kept changing it.

Dealer goofed on the cards. She wasn't sure which card was hers and which was coming to me. Pit boss flipped top card and it was a 10 to match my seven, against dealer deuce. Dealer pulled a 19 and I lost both hands. But pit boss calls it a push and asked me if I wanted a reshuffle. I took the reshuffle.

While waiting I went to the adjacent table, baccarat. Won $400 more on the two hands. Went back to BJ.

I quickly dropped the cash I brought and had to pull out more. I went down $4,600 overall at HR playing baccarat. I just couldn't get in the groove and didn't have the BR on me to roll with it.

That's one thing I've learned, a limited BR can prevent a person from riding the variance, and it fucked me with my normal style of play since I only had a limited amount with me.

Eventually, around midnight we head back to PH. And I drop another grand.

Only thing left to do is grab some more money to get back on the right path. I've got this.

It's about 3 PM but the suite isn't ready yet. I was getting a Terrace Suite with a Terrace one bedroom connector. It's a great set up which I didn't know at the time.

I grab a brick from the safe, and stick another in my pocket just in case. I'm hoping that I won't need the second brick.

I'm running through the casino now with a $10K brick in my hand and another stuffed into my pocket when a security guy steps in front of me to try to say something.

My table is being held, kind of, I don't want anyone to play while I'm expecting Player to hit. So I attempt a spin around him and poof, there's another security dude. I slow down enough as I dodge them to tell them that my table is being held in the HL room at baccarat and they can follow me if they want.

They kind of look at each other and shrug as I continue back to my table.

It takes a couple minutes of them counting the hundreds at the table to get the chips. At $5,000 I'm wondering if I should do it. I'm also thinking that maybe I should make it a table max of $20K bet, but that would just be stupid. I came here with an $8K BR and just thought about doing a $20,000 bet on Player!
