Have you ever gambled alongside a celebrity? I have three stories.

Nelly - I used to play at the Palms a lot from 2008-2011. . I was in Vegas for NYE in 2010 and stayed at the Palms. After about 30 minutes of me playing heads up at the $200 min double deck pitch game in the High Limit room Nelly arrives at the table with a huge security guy with him. We then proceed to play for close to 7 hours. The table was choppy but we worked our way up slowly. We bonded over the course of 7 hours to the point where where he ordered me some courvoisier, I believe we actually fist bumped at some stage but it's all fuzzy. He had some strange quirks the biggest that when he had 11 vs dealer 10 or Ace he would double for half. Never could work that out. He was adamant that was the right play though.

The Amazing Kreskin - Showboat Atlantic City in the early 2000's I am playing blackjack with a buddy very low stakes maybe a $10 table. We look over at some point and recognize the Amazing Kreskin who is playing at our table. We strike up a conversation with him which leads to him saying at some point "You can't beat this game" Honestly if a psychic can't beat blackjack what chance do I have?

Vinnie Chase from Entourage - I snuck a photo. Not that interesting. He was showing this girl how to play. She asked the inevitable question "How do you lose" bang 7 next roll.

I played blackjack with Wilmer Valderrama at the D in the high limit. He was green chipping and didn't say a word. I also played poker with Bill Laimbeer in about 2008 at the Hard Rock. He was super cool and we didn't even realize it was him for like two hours.

I played poker with Kevin Costner in Deadwood in the early 90s. It was when he had just done "The Bodyguard". Almost ran into him earlier going into the bathroom. This was back when Deadwood was $5 max bet. He bought a casino there after filming Dances with Wolves and was in town walking around trying to generate buzz I guess. Walked around town most of the day drinking.

Surprisingly we get celebs at our local casino in New Mexico. Arnold, Seth McFarlane, Jeremy something from The Avengers.

I spent an afternoon playing blackjack with Emmett Smith at Bellagio in 2000 at a table with just the two of us. He was playing at a $1,000 minimum table by himself, but for whatever reason didn't have them put a reserved sign up. I was playing at a reserved table, but saw him over there and walked up and asked if he minded if I sat down. He just motioned toward the limit sign - basically "if you've got the money, sit down". I took a $100K marker and got down to business. He was averaging maybe $2K/hand before I got there, so he was by far the smaller player at the table.

I didn't really talk to him at first, since I didn't want to be "that guy" and I had already sat down at his table. But we began winning. Alot. $400K for me, and about $120K for him. As things got better at the table, and people kept walking up and asking for autographs, we started talking a little. My host came by the table to bring me my tickets for O that night, and also brought me two cigars from the Bellagio private collection (they have a collection of high-end cigars that they keep and raid whenever someone big comes in to play). I gave one to Emmett, but we didn't smoke them together at the table (I rarely smoke them, but when I do it's outside). He asked me what I did for a living, which was pretty interesting at the time, especially for my age (I was 22 at the time). Later that night, about 2am, he was walking back to his room with his wife when he passed my table where I was playing with a few friends that had just come into town a few hours earlier. He walked up and said "honey, this is the kid I was telling you about!". My friends' jaws all just about dropped on the floor.

That was one of my best experiences in Vegas.

The only other time that I've actually played at a table with a "celebrity" - you'll see why I put that in quotes in a second - was at Sycuan in San Diego. The celebrity was Alice Cooper lol. He was apparently performing there that night, and they gave him $500 in chips. He came up to my table, sat down, and proceeded to split his tens on his first hand. I said "nice playing with you" and left.

I've played near too many other celebs to mention. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Britney Spears, Charles Barkley, Tom Hanks, and on and on (had a business meeting with MJ, but that was far from the blackjack tables). But I've never sat at their tables. I got to meet a ton of celebrities and playmates, and Robin Leach yelled at one of my friends, when Bellagio got myself and five friends into Hugh Hefner's 75th birthday party at the MGM, but again that wasn't at the tables.

Tons of celebs at Wynn.. Although most of the time I don't know who they are until someone tells me or someone asks for an autograph.. With The nba guys it's pretty easy to tell they are somebody but some of the nfl guys are way smaller that you would think they would be

I've mentioned in other threads but Charles Oakley playing craps at Cosmo. Nothing like MJ or Emmitt but still a well known in his day nba player.

I played blackjack for about 4 hours with a dead ringer for Dustin Hoffman. I'm mostly sure it wasn't him lol. That's about as close as I've gotten.
