When I was single....money was no object...plenty of gambling, boozing and womanizing. Rock star status.

Married with children...money was tighter, no free time with kids (the big one)....less gambling. Al Bundy status.

    Future?????

Where are you on the charts?

What can I expect in a few years from now, when the kids are done and gone (experienced parents)?

In a perfect world as one gets older and has more disposable income AND can get the enjoyment from the same bet levels, then it's a win-win.
Hard to get the same enjoyment from lower bets with a bigger BR however.

As our income has increased our gambling has decreased. (Not that we ever were that into it.)

I'm not married and don't have kids.

When my ex and I took our first trip in 2010 I didn't know shit about the city or gambling. I didn't really hit the games until our second trip - which was a month after our first. My budget was $400 per day.

As I've been promoted and gotten raises and become comfortable gambling that $400 is now about 5x that per day.

My hobbies are pretty much sports, Mustangs (need to buy another one soon), golfing from time to time, watching sports, betting on sports...and Vegas.

I'm sure I'll eventually have a child but I firmly believe in enjoying life because we only get to do this once. Those hobbies allow me to relax and have fun. I work hard so I don't see anything changing except the bankroll increasing as I see and feel fit.

Hell, yes. Life is for living, having fun, enjoying the fruits of our labors. Dying alone with a wad of money in the bank is evidence of a life ill pursued.

First trip was in 2000 I guess and had $100 a day stayed at the circus circus with five buddies. This April probably take $8000 for four days. I probably play $1500 a day and the wife $500 a day.

I guess I'm the opposite, I was more conservative when I was younger and now married and have three kids and we both have successful businesses we make sure we don't make excuses in not doing what we enjoy. The fact is you can say that you will be able to do something later when the situation is better but you really never know if you will have tomorrow.
I believe in living a enjoyable life with no excuses and no regrets.
So for me I go for it, i work hard and party hard but I also never put my family or business in a situation I can't afford and always play within my means and have fun doing it! :)

Good post - that's kind of how I see it. Who knows what tomorrow brings?

Life is too short to carry stress and anger. It took me until about six/seven years ago to fully embrace this but life has been so much better since.

Work hard and enjoy the payoff for doing so.
