For those who have eaten at Gallagher inside NYNY, what was your opinion of the food quality and cost of meal? That meat cooler always looks so tempting but I have never tried it. Thanks.

It was a good meal. Steaks were great. It's a little louder more lively then other steakhouses like Heritage at Mirage. So if your looking for a romantic dinner might not be the spot. But as far as steaks it was great. It was fairly priced for high end steakhouses. Hope that helps.

We gave up on it years ago after several middling meals. Noise was in issue, several steaks at our table had to be returned for another go at what rare means, indifferent service. Lotsa folks like it. Those same things can be said for every steakery in town.

Rare as in over cooked? I haven't seen too many undercooked rare steaks

I agree with Ken. Ate there once (yes, very limited sample size), but wasn't impressed at all, in fact I'd say it was disappointing. With so many other great steakhouse choices, I wouldn't go back.

I ate there a couple of times my last trip. Once at the bar, on the Casino side, and once to-go and in my room. Not bad for ease of access, as I was staying there. Had the strip one night, and surf and turf the other, if I recall. To be honest though, being from the midwest I have pretty good access to decent cuts at home, so I'm usually in the mood for something else when in Vegas.

Last time I was there we had a very bad steak. Previously it had been great. It was a lot of gristle. We shared and my friend even had to ask them to cut it up for her as it was so bad. My half wasn't as bad. They should have offered to replace it but they didn't. However we didn't pay for it. Get the rib cap at GR Steak, so much better. The mash is to die for.

GR Steak is oh so good. For center strip steakhouses, it's Prime, Jean Georges and GR. If you're in the NYNY hood, take the bridge to MGM for Craftsteak.

Thanks for the heads up on Gallaghers. I actually wanted to give it another shot after several years, but now it's a pass.

Agree on GR, which is one of my favourites in recent years, and took my parents to Jean Georges this summer. Thought JG was very good, but think I prefer the food at CUT.

Haven't been to Prime since my maiden Vegas trip, in 2006. It was good then, and I've no doubt it's still superb. Guess I might take the parents there next summer, as they're heading out again for a few weeks.
