I wish there was a way to set my wife up to get a guaranteed hand pay. I'd be happy to pay a casino a significant amount of money to make it happen. They could call it some kind of Vegas Experience which could get them a customer for life.

For the record, she goes every year but it is getting harder and harder. I'm tired of hearing, "I want to go somewhere new."

I guess the question is why your vacation desires trump hers? She seems like she's gone above and beyond and should get to choose every other year.

This is precisely my main barrier at home. My wife loves Vegas, but she doesn't want to go more than once a year. I feel like I NEED to go 3-4 times a year, or I just lose my mind a little bit.

If you guys only do one vacation a year, then I'm with Ken's suggestion of letting her pick a new place every other year. Maybe that will win you a solo trip on the years she doesn't have to go back to Las Vegas

They don't. We do two vacas a year. Vegas for me and her choice for another, usually an island. She just chooses different islands every year while I choose Vegas for mine every year.

Then she has no room to complain, even if she doesn't get the Vegas-unifocus thing.

More to the story is the fact that she never wins. I mean never. She tries and I give her credit for that. I know she would be more into going if she won once in awhile.

I was living with my girlfriend for 3 years (she's now and ex) and after I banned her from Vegas (see the worst experiences thread) we never went on trips anymore together haha I just went to Vegas 2-3 times a year with friends. I didn't really like her anymore anyways and she wasn't that fun so I didn't want to go somewhere else with her. I also work a job where I work almost strictly nights and weekends (for example my days off this month are Monday/Tuesday), so when I take vacations it's EXTREMELY important that I know I'm going to have a good time. She wasn't a city person (so she wasn't willing to go to New York, LA, Chicago which would all be my second choices to Vegas) and I wasn't willing to risk not enjoying something like Disney or an island (I'm not a big "lay on a beach for a week" guy, I like to be moving and doing/seeing things. I always know 100% I'm going to have a great time in Vegas, win or lose (and since I've never won, I know this for sure).

But yeah, I always fear that my next girlfriend will not like Vegas, though if she doesn't she's probably not right for me! I think like any good relationship, there has to be balance and if your wife has been kind enough to go to Vegas with you even when she doesn't really want to, I think you owe her at least a trip or two to somewhere else that you can both agree on.

We are lucky since we live so close, Vegas is a weekend getaway, and not a vacation for us.

Maybe try a vacation island destination that also has gambling? Plenty of them out there. That way you both get what you want out of a vacation.

I never get the "lay on a beach" opposition to island vacays. Now of course island for us in Hawaii so I can't speak to something in the Carib, but if one is a moving/doing/seeing fan, hello Hawaiian Islands. We do a little beach time of course, but the LAST place you'll see us spending (wasting) money on is Waikiki and endless beach time. No thanks. Hello Kauai, Big Island or maybe even Maui. Snorkel, scuba, swim, fish, hike, bike, ATV, horseback, eat, drink, surf, SUP, sailboard/kite board, golf ... beach.

    Just tossing that out.
