specifically in blackjack:

If you win a hand, you continue the bet progression until a loss or complete cycle (four wins)
If you lose a hand, you start again with 1 unit

Yes continue with 1 if you either push or lose.

I play a modified progressive martingale, adding 1 unit per win, then increasing to 2, 4, 8 etc to avoid losing out on a heater. IE: 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 300

Win 1: Bank 25, Wager +25
Win 2: Bank 50, Wager +25
Win 3: Bank 50, Wager +50
Win 4: Bank 100, Wager +50
Win 5: Bank 100, Wager +100

I like it better than flat betting..... unlike a normal progressive martingale, you're increasing your reserve chipstack at a higher rate utilizing a more conservative wager increase. If the table is hot, I'll go full martingale, but it hurts when you're doubling the wager and lose.
