I know many people have a something they do as a first thing every trip. Some times it's based on superstition, other times it's based on routine.

For me it's at least a 2 hour drive to the nearest airport with direct flights to Vegas so after a long drive, customs, 2 hours of waiting at the airport, a usually cramped flight on a discount airline. I try to eat a large meal at airport or just before so I don't want to eat once in Vegas. I get a cab or limo from the airport and get the VIP check in line, so a short wait to get my room.

Once in the room I want to have a quick shit, shower, shave. Once I got a nice dress shirt on and feel like I am presentable for Vegas I am off to a video poker bar. For me there is nothing getting that first drink and sliding in a benny into a machine at one of my favorite bars. This upcoming trip I'm sure that first drink will be at TAG Bar at Linq. What is the first thing you must do.

usually steam shower, change into Vegas clothes, grab a Blue Moon with fresh orange juice from the butler, head down to the casino

Many trips the first stop is at a golf course.

first thing I plan is always the first meal.

I know we're going to be hungry after a long travel day.

I like to keep it low key the first night - usually just a relaxed dinner in the dining room - so I just throw on a nice shirt and head down.

if I'm by myself, I'll usually hit the casino first. the goal is a nice hit and run to get the trip started right.

unfortunately that sometimes turns into getting stuck early and then a 10 hour marathon degen session to get back to even.

The Tram over from Terminal D
I always think WTF am I here again.

Then meet my ride. Either a limo or my personal pick up driver. Or get a rental car.

Shower, change, and head down to have a couple beers at a bar close to the casino before I start gambling. At this point, I am itching for it, but sitting and relaxing for a bit and taking in everything around me always gets my trip started right.

pretty much the same, I always rent a car so after picking up the car we usually make a quick stop at walgreens/convienience store to pick up some water, snacks, etc. Then head to Valet and always a belman on checkin. I make my wife wait for the belman and I head to diamond check in. Check in and head up to the room, get cleaned up and either grab a bite or go directly to the casino.

** Side Note - I'm leaving on monday the 16th, it's my son's 21st birthday and I have strict instructions that a detour to in and out burger on the way to the hotel for double-double and animal fries will be made - LOL.

Scout which fountains have the most change so I know where to go when I need to make a withdrawal.

Actually, go have lunch and drink.

My first stop is almost always Lotus of Siam for lunch. I like to get in early enough for a nice lunch, go to the room, change, hit the tables or a couple drinks and get into the Vegas flow. Occasionally, though, it'll be an In-n-Out stop.

Oh, and the past few trips? Bottle of champagne in the limo. A must.
