I thought it would be a little perverse to start a TR three weeks prior to my next trip, but I'm knee deep in planning meals for it, so to keep some posts flowing, here's a little rundown of the dining lineup. And maybe you can help me fill in a couple things I need to do but am lacking imagination on how to arrange the schedule.

What set me off with a higher level of excitement is that I got the e-mail on Saturday that I got into e by Jose Andres on Saturday, February 11. Mrs. Ocean joins me for the weekend, and she hasn't been there. And this really gives me a culinary benchmark for the trip that's pretty exciting.

So I think that sets the dinner lineup. I've never been to Vegas for five nights, and there's a distinct possibility I just don't make it. Haha. Dinners will be:

Lotus of Siam (of course)
Bouchon (more like breakfast; have to get my Corpse Revivers in)

Yes, it's multiple happy hours a day! Trying to figure out the best way to work in Yardbird without completely tanking dinner. Went to the Miami location last year, and it was impressive. Mrs. Ocean will be disappointed if we miss it or Bardot.

Going through a lineup like this? Reminds me what a great eating city Vegas is. It's just so damn good. I'm going to need to talk 20,000 steps a day just to keep weight gain to a minimum!

Congrats on your reservation at e. That's not easy to get, especially on Saturday. Everything on your list sounds like a fantastic dining option. Not like I'm jealous or anything... . You already read my recent trip report so you know I'm going two thumbs up on both Prime and Carbone.

If you want some well-crafted drinks (and since you talked about a Corpse Reviver I know you do!), check out Fizz at Caesar's. I didn't talk about it in detail on my trip report but it's worth talking about a little more. The snacks/food were fine but skippable for you, given the high-powered food selections you have listed. However, the cocktails we had were fantastic. They will make special drinks off the menu too. Ask for a Holy Trinity but make sure they don't tell you what's in it (and no peeking!) before you taste it. You'll never guess.

We keep meaning to try out Lotus of Siam and I think it needs to go on the "must do" list for our next trip out. Please post some pics of when you go.

 

Thanks, Tesla! I've been meaning to check out Fizz. My travel mate is a buddy from work who hasn't really done Vegas as an adult, so a lot of casino hopping will be in the cards. Sounds like a good stop.

Lotus I highly recommend ... it's worth. I'll definitely be posting pics. Having dreams of crispy rice already!

 

Hard to improve on that line up, nicely done! With the exception of Yardbird and LofS (we live in Vancouver so quality Asian/seafood is here) I've been to every place on your list.

As a personal preference, I would sub one of the steak places for Le Cirque. Their 3 course with wine pairing is an excellent value and a different French to L'Atelier. If you have a group with varying appetites, may not work. We stay at Aria and if you're close, try Serrano's for HH. I think it runs all day and the food/price ratio is insanely good. Make sure you hit up Bardot Sunday for the $20 never-ending Rose!

 

It's funny, I've been tempted by Le Cirque, in large part because of Shifter's pics on the site. The work buddy who's traveling with me was really big on pushing a second steakhouse. But, hey, you never know what I can convince him to do for food!

Forgot, totally need to drop in for Serrano for sangria. Thank you for the reminder!

And Bardot's $20 bottomless rose is such a great deal. Last time Mrs. Ocean and I went out to Vegas, we hit the brunch. They were pouring Whispering Angel, which is roughly $20 a bottle retail, and we killed three bottles. Love it. We won't be missing it! Start the day staggering!!

 

I would say it is going to be pretty hard to improve on that list. I was doing the same getting reservations and what not for my upcoming trip earlier in the week. Might just have to add Lotus of Siam to our list, with Uber, off strip dining is so much easier now.

 

So true. It's so easy to get to.

I'll probably try to add a couple hit-and-run things here and there. I wish Bank's new place Patio would be open, but I may go back to Chada or Chada Street just for the heck of it. Mrs. Ocean also wouldn't mind checking out Gordon Ramsay's fish and chips place.

 

Solid Starting-Lineup Danny. That is the great thing about Vegas, there are so many places to try for meals, drinks etc, it never gets boring. Have Carbone in the lineup whenever my next trip is, along with Yardbird, so looking forward to your thoughts on those two particularly.

Mrs. Telsla and I ate dinner at Le Cirque on our honeymoon (all a' y'all can leave out the jokes about being served woolly mammoth tenderloin, ka-peesh? Both of us know too well it happened way too long ago...) and can still remember how blown away we were. The chef signed our menu, which we still have stashed in our wedding album as a souvenir.

However, the last time we went back.. maybe 2 years ago?... we felt like the restaurant had lost a couple mph off its culinary fastball. Maybe our tastes evolved, maybe the Vegas fine dining landscape got more competitive. It was still a superb meal and would be worth trying, though personally I'd rather eat at Picasso if you asked me to pick today.

Did you eat there recently Mo? Maybe we just caught them on a bad night or with the menu between seasons. I'd be up for giving it another try.

 

I love Picasso. That got bumped for e for us. I know the menu doesn't change as much as some places, but we are suckers for classic technique, and they are so unwaveringly good at it there.
