I was at the Wynn last month sitting at the roulette table in the far corner and there was all kinds of excitement going on that was out of the norm. The table we were at had a pretty wild group (not US citizens of course, this is the Wynn) that was pulling huge markers and loosing them over and over again moving back and forth between several tables in a row. They were acting kind of wild making bird sounds and doing all kinds of other interesting behavior. This of course pissed off the pit boss and everyone in the pit really. The pit boss was actually cussing them in front of us when they moved to other tables and the dealers were apologizing to us for their behavior. It really wasn't that big of a deal honestly and seemed to be just having a good time behavior to me. Maybe I am not as conservative as some.

Anyway, the interesting part was around 1 or 2 in the morning they had a group of two or three security guards that had a "drug dog" with them walking the floor. They had vests on that said something like Wynn security drug something or other on it. It seemed like they were targeting that group because they came by about ten times in that hour.

Anyone else ever see that in the Wynn or any other casino??? I had never seen that before.

Havent seen that one before. I'm just wondering what they would do with a positive hit. They don't have full police powers to do a PC search, and at 2am a search warrant isn't getting signed, so are they detaining people for Metro or simply giving them the option to leave the property?

I have seen the dogs in and just outside of AC casinos. They seem to be mostly around hieghten security e i. After 9/11 and after a few others times for a week or 2. But does sound strange if they were looking for the players at your table

I can't imagine a drug dog in a casino would know where to look first lol.

It's a shame when people completely forget their manners in public though.

Saw one in AC earlier last month. (Actually day after the bombings in NY. I was in Manhattan the day they sent out the alert on him, and was trying to come across the damn Verrazano bridge and suddenly lights everywhere just below us when they pulled his family over). I just went through Brooklyn side roads after that happened.

Didn't do a TR but that was as surreal weekend for sure and saw dogs, military, and and unfrocking believable amount of cop cars with those shaker sirens all over the place. Raining, gridlock, etc.

Hell of a first trip to NY (And AC).

I have seen them in V/P and Mandalay Bay recently during events. I figured they were bomb dogs, not drug.

Yeah, they were in Wynn this weekend. I suspect they are bomb sniffing dogs, not drugs.

Yeah, I agree with tella on this more than likely bomb detectors. Las vegas often is on alert as a possible terrorist target because of the number of people there and what it represents in terms of excess.

Shit, if you took a drug dog into any of the main clubs in any of the casinos they would find more drugs than you could imagine. I've walked into many restrooms outside the clubs and seen coke powder all over the place.

I remember like the others after 9/11 pulling into the Bellagio parking ramp and being stopped - everyone had to open the trunks on their cars and they would have the dog walk around it.

Allegro employees have told me that they often find drugs and condoms on the floors at the end of the night. Intoxicated people dog around their pockets in order to pay and end up dropping the goods
