Going to Vegas next week and doing things a bit differently. Plan after I get my girl from Cisco training and check into our real hotel is to order a stiff drink and just chill for a bit. Normally it's straight to the tables and the drinks flow like the Mississippi at her time of the month. Not this time.

I like clear alcohol, vodka, gin and some rum but prefer good cognac. I want my drink to be strong and not cost me half my bankroll lol.

I've become a fan of a solid French 75. Clear liquor not too sweet. Looks classy for a ham and egger like me. If your girl also enjoys same types of sauce she should also enjoy. I can't stand sweet drinks so nice easy quaffer for me.

My hubby is a Crown Royal guy. A couple of years ago when we were casino hopping we ended up at Westgate and happy hour at the bar during Rodeo week Crown Apple was fairly new. I had a drink with the CR Apple and cranberry juice. Later I bought a bottle and my husband gulped it down--on the rocks. He asks me not to buy it because he likes it too much. He takes it easier with the plain CR.

It is too strong for me straight -- it does taste like a strong jolly rancher.

It's simple but sometimes I love an extra extra dirty vodka martini. The olives are breakfast right? If not at a fancy drink place I'll order a vodka and cranberry but have them put half cranberry and half ginger ale. It takes away the mouth puckering dryness you get from the tartness of the cranberry juice. Raspberry or Strawberry Stoli's vodka and 7-Up or Sprite is very light and refreshing and still strong. Just some simple ideas that are easy to remember. Have a great trip!

Plymouth (or your favorite gin) martini with a twist. Perfect boozy summer drink. :cocktail:

I think it was at Yardbird I tried my husbands old fashioned and it was really good. I may be wrong but think that's where he liked them.
