I occasionally go to Ellis Island, and I've wondered before whether I should take my wife and kids... But before I've ever bothered to do any research, I always stopped myself and thought, "Why would I take my kids to Ellis Island?" I mean, don't get me wrong, it's decent food at a great price, but not worth the trouble to get everyone together to go there for a meal when we have 8 billion choices in any walking direction on the strip. Plus before or after the meal I'd want to hang out and gamble, and my kids would be left sitting or standing there staring. It's not (in my opinion) a destination dinner for the family. It's more of a destination dinner for gamblers or drunk gamblers (one and the same?)
Cheers! (I'll probably be back at EI in a few months.

Valid point. The clientele at Ellis can include the less than robust members of society. That argument can be made for bringing kids to Vegas anyhow, but there is a certain gutter element to Ellis.
