I'll be stuck in the Detroit area for a few weeks (gross, I know). Figured I might as well get some gambling in while there. Has anyone been to any of the three in Detroit (MGM, Greektown, Motor City)? What are they like? Which has the best vibe/is the least shitty? Is it worth crossing the border and going to Caesars Windsor instead? Or making the drive to Firekeepers?

I'm a pretty equal opportunity gambler but my games of choice are craps and baccarat. Some HL slots would be good too.

I went once years ago (like a year before MGM opened) to Greek town and it was a total shit hole...

Avoid greektown. Both MGM Grand and Motor City are nice.

MGM looks nice enough but the employees are worthless and security is a shit storm.

They tried to kick me out due to an incident they caused after I had dropped 50k the night before.

Needless to say the VP of security didn't like being woken up in the middle of the night about that.

But I promised never to return.

I have been to the MGM Detroit a couple times when I was there on business. Greektown as others have stated is not worth a visit. I think the MGM is OK for it being Detroit.

Thanks for the replies. I figured MGM would be the top choice just based on its affiliation.

What is the baccarat scene like there? Limits? Any big tables?

there were 2 midi tables there when I was there 4 or 5 years ago way back in the HL room.

hopefully they redid it since I was there as it was really dark and dingy and nobody liked it.

I want to say the limit was 10k? mins at $100 probably.

they did have some mini tables out on the main floor at $25 or maybe even $15. I think the max there was only $5k.

I really liked MGM Detroit, and Detroit as a whole when I was there last year to pick up a car. Everyone was super nice. I'm a total low roller though, so I fit right in.
