Here is another one, sure to bring out the comments about, "it was only a matter of time before the tables turn" or, "you can't win with all the dealers" or something along those lines.

I have noticed not at one or two properties, but at almost all the places I play at regularly. Not just here in the Midwest, but back east as well as Vegas as well as Southern California.

There is always at least one dealer that is the proverbial 'cooler'. I can be doing well with many other dealers and the dealers that I don't score big with or win more than lose, at least I stand a decent chance up doing that 'up and down' thing and not losing every hand or losing say 7/8 out of 10.

I have noticed there are certain dealers, that I cannot win with. And not on certain days. Each and every single time. Doesn't matter if I was winning or losing prior to their arrival at the table. When those certain dealers deal, almost every hand I will lose.

Any one have anything of the likes?

    Yep definitely had that happen.

And not only all the time but just each session.

I'm hammering them with one dealer, he goes on break. I get crushed every hand with the relief give back all my winnings and get stuck. Dealer comes back and immediately it shifts back. I get out of the hole and make a nice win. All in the same shoe, no shuffle.

That's happened several times. Enough that there's definitely something to it.

I've heard they are called "House Dealers"....
I just take those dealers out back and hand them over to my friend "Knuckles McGurk"....

Seriously, there are some that are the cooler to the 100th degree. Might win 1 or 2 hands out of 10 with them. Then all of a sudden they let you win a few and you are thinking, 'hey just maybe that cooler stuff is wrong, come on really'. Then they take about 16 out of 20 wagers from you or something. These are the same dealers, time after time, not just a random dealer coming in when the previous 6 dealt you winning hands. The same result, time after time from the handful of the same dealers.

I was kidding with my Knuckles McGurk line, but I understand the pain and have felt this as well. I played downtown last year for several BJ sessions. Maybe 10 sessions at this one casino during the week. Everytime this one relief dealer came, the table went south in a hurry. One time there was this 50 year old cowboy dressed in cowboy hat, boots, cowboy shirt etc... He was betting big and was on a good roll.. Then the bad relief guy came and we all lost, but he lost big time and started accusing the casino of being rigged and they had this dealer just to take back the money he had just won....He demanded to see his host and they both left the room together.

I learned from that point on I will never play with the relief help if I lose my first two hands with them... I'll just take a break for 20 minutes...

We don't always think clearly at the tables. But years of playing have now convinced me to remember the word 'possibility' better. It is easy to say before hand that I will leave the table to do 'such and such' if 'so and so' happens, but doesn't always work out like that.

oh man, I would be shocked if there are people who haven't experienced facing coolers. Count me in as one who has suffered their mighty powers of destroying me in every which way possible :ROFLMAO:

I witnessed a cooler dealer on my cruise just this past week. There was a $1000 BJ player who had 5 stacks of purples ($500) when I started playing at the table next to him. Then I switched tables and played with him; we both did very well (I turned my last remaining $600 into 14K) and he went up to 145K; we were all having a great time bantering with each other and the dealer, who started dealing to us at 11 PM. Then they brought in this diminutive Russian female dealer to relieve the dealer; I glanced at my watch and it had only been 12 minutes since the dealer sat down. After losing the first three hands I colored up and left to cash in my chips; I had no inclination for what was about to happen and don't profess to have any psychic abilities. I just felt that it was time for me to leave the tables after clawing my way back all night.

I then returned to the room to watch the carnage ... the poor guy busted out in about 30 minutes and the "weird" thing was that the Russian dealer was never relieved after her 20 minute shift. She dealt for about 32 minutes. Then as soon as the guy left within 25 seconds, the regular rotation dealer returned at 11:33.

It was at that moment that I realized that she was brought in as a cooler. For the rest of the trip, she was dealing craps and never stepped into the HL room for all the nights that I was in there. She remembered me because she paid me $900 for a parlay hard 8.

The worst is when you are winning and the dealers are good and engaging keeping the game going at a good pace, then the dealers switch and its a super slow, or just bad dealer and you start loosing.
