These jets are so bad. I've been on one one other time before and it was a last minute thing as the first leg of a 3 stop flight to Manila. We sat in the back row next to the shitter for 3 hours. So brutal. I've understood known how many people have to deuce on a flight. I paid for 3D this time. My first choice was 1 A or 18 A, but both were taken.

Are you flying non stop direct? I think any non stop direct out of YYZ is operated by either Air Canada or Westjet. You can buy a United, Delta or AA flight, but it's a code share.
For me, driving to Buffalo isn't worth the trouble.

Wife likes to go shopping in the US. We usually fly out of Flint/Detroit. We are right in the middle of 4 airports (give or take 30min). It works out well.

Shudder... I recognize that plane! I used to take one of those to St Louis 6-8 times/year on business. My favorite seat was 2A (underseat space and no adjacent seat). Back in the day I'd catch the puddle jumper at Ellington Field (15 minutes from my house) for the quick hop to IAH. One of the best things about retirement is not having to fly to St Louis (or Baltimore or Philly) in the winter!

I don't like the bulkheads because usually the armrests don't go up and they have those god forsaken built in tray tables.

Shit, now you have me rethinking my strategy. I'll probably switch to the exit row.

It just depends, if I were still skinny I would have no problem with the bulkhead. But I like to have a bit of extra room.

Changed to 18D. I feel better about it already. Thanks.

It's really a good seat. No one on either side of you and plenty of leg room.

I would rather have no one behind me. I HATE when someone is kicking the seat or pressing their knees into my seat.
I think that I am a considerate flier. I don't recline my seat. I don't pull on the seat in front if me if I get up. I don't violently open and close the tray a 100 times during the flight. I don't kick the seat in front. I don't sneeze and cough with my mouth open.
