Try the rum old-fashioned at Carbone (made with El Dorado 12yr). I don't think I'll ever make an old-fashioned at home using whiskey ever again. If you want to really be a cocktail geek, ask them what bitters they use and let me know.

I was in the Aria HL when you did your Oceans 13 trick.
What a total mess. I was worried the elevator would stop.
Luckily my host had all my play info but it was wierd for sure.

 

Well, geez, my Tapatalk wouldn't work for VB all weekend. It kept telling me I wasn't signed in. So I'm going to have to post the full report retrospectively. My apologies! I didn't use my laptop the entire time I was out there. Insane. Anyway ... it's to come. AMAZING five nights in Vegas. Already itching to go back!!

 

5 nights really whooped me but now that I've been back for more than 72 hours. I'm ready to get back there. Is it bad I found a $94 round trip flight on spirit and seriously considered buying it!?

 

So a quick gambling recap:

Aria is a hellhole for blackjack now. Spoke with many crews and pit bosses over the five days, and each said the same thing: management has made a strategic change on the casino floor. 3/2 blackjack games will be much higher limit. Tuesday-Sunday? I saw exactly ZERO BJ games that were 3/2 without a limit of $50 or higher.

On the flip side, craps minimums were much lower than previously. Even on Friday and Saturday nights, it was easy to find multiple $10 tables. So it was a craps trip for me because I was just fuming about the proliferation of 6/5 blackjack. This is the shitty new Strip reality. Even saw them taking 3/2 felt off and installing 6/5 felt on two different BJ tables on Thursday morning.

Craps treated me generally well until I donked back everything on the last night with Mrs. Ocean. Had one bad table run. But we came back with maybe a quarter of the BR still intact. That's a win in my book. Downside, though: they definitely screwed me on my rating. I'm inquiring right now, but they're only showing a net loss of $300 for me, and that's just hugely off.

 

I'm right there with you. I thought five nights would kill me. Nope. It was amazing. I'd do it again right now.
