Customer Service Departments

    Reference Customer Service Departments, etc.

    Personally I dread calling customer service departments these days, hold times are nefarious, so many times the point or goal of my call was circumvented and brought down another trail that accomplished nothing or couldn't get anything resolved, etc. But I have to say something about Direct TV. Their customer service department was spot on twice now in the past couple of weeks. Completely resolved, clear communication, repeated twice to ascertain if my problem was resolved and what else could be done. Nothing to do about a bill involving money, actually about something else where something had to be initiated and followed through to accomplish on the customer service departments personnel's end.

    I will also add Holiday Inn's IHG club/customer service and basic management is pretty spot on also.

    The rest pretty much suck and seem as though their customer service departments are sounding boards with "I'm Sorry" as their total problem resolution SOP.

    Pro tip: tweet a company you want to talk to or use live chat on their website. It's usually much faster.
