Anyone here playing in / know the structure of the Cosmopolitan $100,000 Baccarat tournament during July 15 Weekend?

Host sent me a list of upcoming events and this was on there. I registered but he hasn't forwarded structure yet and figured someone here may have more details.

 

based on previous 100k tourneys they've had, they will have 120 ppl in it.

there will be 2 opening rounds followed by QF, SF, FT.

the opening rounds are usually Friday and the QF+ are on Saturday.

they put a few hours in between each round to keep you in the casino as long as possible.

the payouts will be 50k for first and down the line to 10th.

there will be AQ spots, but it's based on how much you lose that trip. they don't do any pre-AQ based on previous trips.

it's really a shitty deal for only 100k prize pool.

most tourneys of this structure with this many people are at least 300-500k.

 

For fifty grand up or down shifter might as well spend five minutes at the BAC table instead of three-four hours at a tournament for a less than 1% chance.

Host sent structure out today and conforms to what you said Shifter. Is the final round generally one table paying out to all spots (6)?

 

Every tourney I've ever played in has been played on big tables with 12 people making the FT.

They don't usually payout all 12 but often the table will make a deal to get everyone some cash.

 

The Cosmo ones I've played in are midi style tables (9 seats) I believe. The one at aria is a big table from what I remember.

 

yeah all the MGM (Aria/MGM/Bellagio) tourneys are played at big tables.

they usually only have 7 or 8 at the table for the early rounds, but will have the full 12 at the FT.

 

They just canceled the 800k Cosmo baccarat tournament

 

Did they say why it was cancelled?
