I'm staying at Cosmo during March Madness on an up front comp offer for a few nights. I asked the host what play was needed for 2 extra nights to be comped (I have 0 history with them), and she said $250/hand for 4+ hours a day to get a City Room.

Is that a normal offer? City Room is their lowest room type offered. I'm not worried about hitting the theo needed for that, but am unsure how to approach it as I haven't stayed there and don't want to short myself/or ask for too much.

that's pretty stout for a basic room.

evidently, they are very proud of their hotel.

Seems like you'd be better off blowing out a nice meal at one of the restaurants, and you'd get two free nights by going up in Identity status! Man, that's steep for a basic room comp.

That's about what Wynn wants and I would think a Wynn/encore room would be worth more than a city room at cosmo

Yeah no kidding. If I get them to upgrade my room at checkin with tip, is play needed still based off of small room, or will host go off of price of room I'm in?

It could also be a factor of you staying on an up front comp with no history.

That seems quite steep. It could be possible he's just trying to get you to play bigger. $100-150 should get you a room.

It's probably because it's an upfront offer and they aren't sure what they will get from you and may not have any history on you, so they may either be trying to get you to play more or just making sure you are worth the comp.

Yeah I get that, but that's steep imo given the room type. Not worried about the play, just trying to figure out if worth asking for different room type. Not looking for a huge suite or anything, but even a room with a balcony would be an improvement ha.
