I got my first W2g last year from a trip to Vegas. I also got one from a different local card room than I have before. The other times that I have received them it was from a local Indian casino, and they always send copies around the first of the year. Is there a law that they are supposed to follow and send copies in February, or is that just something that is at the casino's discretion? Is the date different than regular employment W2's? We typically file early and haven't seen either yet.

I believe as long as they sent them once they are in compliance.

 

You usually get your W2 at the time you hit it. Some casinos, like CET, may handwrite a "temporary w2", in which case, you will receive an actual W2 in the mail...anywhere from a couple weeks to a few months down the road. If you get a printed w2 at the time when you get your handpay, then that is your copy of the actual w2.

 

ok, thanks for the answers. I called them and requested a copy. I think that it was a handwritten one, but I was so exhausted I barely remember it. And i wasn't drinking heavily. It was the last night of a 4 night trip, around 5am.
