They've gotta get this thing to the airport and hopefully, downtown as well.

With self fundig, a ticket will be $20. Not impressed with the monorail management.

Glad to see this? It's an extension of a massive failure.

The ONLY thing that will save the monorail project is an airport tie-in. Period.

YAY!!! We agree!!! Growth of the line into something truly beneficial or the addition of the evil subsidies.

I'm still shocked that they decided to go with an elevated platform rather than subway system. The monorail access points are not convenient to or from any of the properties. A subway could have strategically placed access points with easy escalator access.

A single, very big loop would work...a spur-line from the Trop to/from the airport... then. along the east side (current), but extend from the SLS, down to LVH, and to the Strat.... then a seperate spur to/from the Plaza/MSS...then back south, along the west side of the strip, Strat to Resorts World, to Mandalay & then back to the Trop.
The spur-lines would just run back and forth, 24/7. The loop could have 3 or 4 trains running constantly in the loop.
Sure - a subway would have made a LOT more sense. But we're stuck with what we've got.

(PS - I'd still like to see a two-way covered people-mover running down the center of LVB, from Tropicana Ave. to Sahara Blvd.)

$100M. "No public funds." So who is going to issue the bonds then? Or do they consider bonds not funds???
All those riders will cover the bond debt? Sure.
Looks like they have been talking to the California high speed rail crooks and clowns.

Fuck that rail idiocy, hang more lanes on the 5 and 99. (But leave the 101 alone ... and route everyone from down south through the valley! lol)

    Riders will cover the bonds.

    Until the next bankrupcy.

The expansion to MB on its own is not that exciting, but it does move closer to the airport. And the prospect of an NFL stadium there for it to surface would certainly help with funding.
